Is there an easy way to determine if you have a stock or after-market shifter. Which really boils down to what does the stock shifter on a 2004 Mach 1 look like?

you still need to see if you have the shifter or just the handle..
it will say steeda on both.

so will taking the shift stops out change my shifts

Jeez, I pulled on the under-boot to see if I could see anything and it ripped. That sucks. My next day off is Wednesday, I will pull the boot retainer then and see what says underneath but it is probably a tri-ax through and through.

When you say take them out my assumption is that these are short hex head bolts with some kind of locking nuts on them easily visible from the top of the tranny. The bulk of my previous experience is with pre-1980 muscle cars and they have very few options or adjustments. Tranny stops are huge and easily identifiable but I don't see anything like that on my Mach.

sometimes it's kinda hard to put it in gear and gears seem really tight kinds like they are catching on something is it suppose to be like that or really smooth
