yo guys im new on here and i have a 98 mustang v6 i have flow masters on it but im not satisfied can i take the cats off without any engine problems to get a better sound?
3.8, look, haha.different exhaust with an x-pipe would make it sound better and would have a little bit of a performance bump. And you could get a cai off ebay with the extra money. Which should equal somewhere around 215 at the crank
i saw that after i posted and decided not to quote that in an edit. 215 with an intake and exhaust... wow, espically on a 98 pushin 150 to the crank.. thats a 65 hp increase!!! i want to know his secret! :lol3.8, look, haha.
you should have cut out where the pipes come off the headers from the 2 pipes to the one and fabricate true dualsi have dual exhaust but its a y pipe
wrong againmos def. if he has $400 he could squeeze out a dual port but then he wouldn't have any money left to make it work and he'd need a new hood to go along with it...still wouldn't have 215
well, he'd have to get the mm.com stickers like I have. They throw about 52hp in there. It's hard to handle! :lmaoi saw that after i posted and decided not to quote that in an edit. 215 with an intake and exhaust... wow, espically on a 98 pushin 150 to the crank.. thats a 65 hp increase!!! i want to know his secret! :lol
the 44s are newer with a different designwhats the deal with like 44s and 40s and **** like that
There is SOOO much wrong info in this thread.
A. Your exhaust right now is not duals, the why pipe is not a true dual set-up. In order to have true duals you must have an x/h/ or straight pipes.
B. Exhaust and CAI will not put you anywhere near 215 at the wheel or at the crank.
C. The loudest flow muffler on a v6 I believe is the original 40. The super 40 and 44 and original 40 and all of the others all create different sounds do to the flow path and the chambers.
D. You will not get a "deep tone" without spending quite a bit on new headers, full catback, and a new cam.
E. CAI is not worth the money until later on down the road. It will open the engine to allow it to breath more whenever you have more mods done to the engine.
Your post looks very similar to my posts on the 2nd page. And the commen misconception is that nitrous is dangerous. It CAN be if not done correctly, but if installed correctly and used properly, you can easily run up to a 100 shot on a stock block.
Different shots=different hp.
50 shot=50 hp
75 shot=75 hp
So on and so forth.
