My tuner (one of the major 3) is saying no revision needed for going from cats to offload xpipe. Can anyone confirm this is a normal? He is saying its baked into calibration. I don't want to name him and just asking if anyone else has gone from cats to no cats without tune revision.

You need a revision, you will get a check engine light if you don't.

This plus...
It needs a datalog and revision when you switch to get the most power gain out of the swap.

Go Lund if you're straight.

I would never run these cars without cats on a stock tune. My old 2v however, I ran it on a strategy tune that I tinkered with and it worked fine lol. Perfect AFR at WOT and idle.

I went from a tuned and cai tuned car to a off road x pipe last year and my tuner already had the rear o2 turned off so I didn't need a revision-(I even called him and he said not needed when I made the switch) Obvious data logging never hurts and your tuner can get more aggressive with current data and no cats- but my car ran fine with no cel's or codes.

Didn't know you had LT's and a catted mid. Those cats are likely hi-flows and the tuner may have already turned the rear o2's off in the tune you're running know. Not much to be gained switching from hi-flows to o/r so the tune may not need tweaked, hence why your tuner said it was ok. I'd still definitely datalog after the pipe swap and compare it to previous datalog results/send back for tweaking if need be.

I did the same thing but in reverse with my 07 gt. I had an off road x pipe and switched to a high flow cat x pipe. the dyno tuner said i didnt need a revision because the rear o2s were already off

Lund tune right? What he meant was your rear o2's are already off in the tune. Lund does this unless you request them to be left on.

Well 100 miles and no CEL. Car picked up 25hp on the dyno and everything is running great. I even noticed the car runs about 20 degrees cooler. Track this weekend and will see what ET is picked up. I firmly believe the aftermarket hi flow cats were an issue from day one. Long tubes and cars were the first mod I did at 700 miles on the odometer.
