That's because everyone is using social media for tech. The clubhouse isn't tech.

I literally see 100's if not 1000's of legitimate tech questions on the facebook groups per each single tech thread here.

Hate to say it but Bill Tumas is right, the forums are a dying breed.

I hate to use Kyle as an example but he's a good one. He's one of the very first on MM to post a good many tech threads and questions/answers not long after the Coyote came out, when I first came into the Coyote scene, I could almost guarantee that every question I asked, Kyle would be one of the first to answer. When the forums started dying as the social media scene grew, he started becoming more involved in social media pages and frequents forums less often. Does he still come on here? Sure, once in a blue moon. I talked to him about this at MW actually. Vendors honestly don't care about the forums anymore. Very little of their business comes from the forums which is why they've also followed the Social Media scene. I can't tell you how often I see the Hyper/JPC/Beef/LMR/AM guys on facebook vs how infrequently you see them here(other than SVTP which is about the only constantly used forum by every Mustang "Group"". I think the only way this forum will ever be revived is by starting to sponsor events. Look at what SVTP does. I saw SVTP at Foxtoberfest last year. I've seen them at MW EVERY year I've been. I seen them at all of the bigger Mustang gatherings. That's why everyone uses SVTP.

If you disagree, look back through the last 3-5 pages of this thread, for example. How many tech questions are there? Very, very few. How many of them should have really be made into a separate thread? If they were made into a separate thread, how many of them wouldn't receive a response of "use the search function, that's been asked 500 times"? As mentioned, nearly every subject has been covered in other threads, multiple times, across multiple forums. If someone can't find it via a quick MM search or a quick google search then they can always created a new thread.

I see why it would work in the clubhouse....because there's literally millions of topics to talk about there, so there's potentially lots more threads. Will it work in the subforums? Highly doubt it.

Why not post a survey in each subforum asking if people would frequent the site more or less and make a decision off that? It's common knowledge that the majority of us frequent here just to chitchat and should that ability be taken away, the few people that routinely visit will visit much less frequently, if at all.

The S550 subforum is a great point. There's no daily chat there and it's d.e.a.d.

No, there is a WDYD thread, it's just not posted in very often. But I do see your point, Jake. I've even seen myself migrate more to FB and less here, just because of the lack of activity here. I remember this section in particular having a dozen active threads on any given day about all kinds of stuff. Today, I can count on one hand with fingers left over how many posts were made, much less threads.

I'm always open to suggestions, you guys know that.

My suggestion is to keep this open. Daily chat in the Clubhouse, I agree on it being taken down, just because it was the only way people would post. Some people joined, JUST for that thread which is ridiculous.

This thread is a great addition to this sub-forum however, because nobody wants to make a thread to tell people they installed their new shift boot.

I agree 100% with what Jacob said, which sucks. I love this forum and have posted and spent a lot of time on here. I have met some cool people from it as well, and I'd hate to see it die out like it seems to be doing now. Forums are a thing of the past, but I still want them to stay around as there is a GOOD bit of information held on them and will always be here. While Facebook, **** gets lost the same day from the numerous other posts.

I find myself every day wanting to go back on an old post on Facebook to see about an issue being fixed, or just a random one in general. Know how easy that is? Compare that to going on a forum and searching and bam, answered and is there in seconds.

I love forums and have learnt so much stuff on this forum particularly. I would never want to see it be taken down. its a great Archive of information for anyone who has any kind of questions. Sadly, it is dieing slowly. we often see the same group of guys posting and it gets smaller as times goes by. I agree with you Treyson. the lack of a search function in FB sucks. I see things on there all the time where i want to go back to see the result and it dissapeared.. unlike this. i always check up on things even weeks down the road.

I look at the facebook groups but not for serious tech info. 90% of those guys on there are clueless. There's so many times I can correct someone but don't because I don't want my phone blowing up all hours of the night from facebook notifications and I get tired of reading "Who wants to buy my quad tip Borlas?" and "Whos tune are you running?" At least in the WDYD thread on here we still get some good tech info. Even here if I have a tech question I usually just PM someone I trust rather than making a thread about it.

I think if you ask the question "Would you still frequent the site if we got rid of WDYD threads?" amongst all the subforums, there would be an overwhelming "No" response.

I just came back to the forums and it is SUUUUUPER dead here! My 2 cents is..... what harm does it do to keep this thread alive?
That the rest of the sub-forum suffers as all posts and questions are posted into this rather than making a new thread.

I agree with everyone else here Marc. When I first joined this forum back when I had my 2 valve there was way more going on. Shoot, even a year and a half ago when I got my coyote the forum had way more activity. I used to get on here once a day and now I barely find myself getting on unless its to add something to my build thread or to look into this thread. I feel like if this thread were to be closed then the forum would die off almost completely and I know none of us here want that.

I ordered a boss splitter. Now Im doing some homework on which tuner I want to use. Leaning towards Lund with the NGauge.
I went with Lund, used an SCTX4. Very happy with it.

Anyway, I spoke with Eric over at JPC and what he originally told me was incorrect which is fine since it has been like a year or so since he degreed cams on a coyote so I spoke with him before he left for BG and he was like sorry man, I just degreed the cams on Ronnie's car and realized I gave you the wrong info.

SOOOOOOOO last night I degreed the exhaust cam and was 2.25 degrees away from where I needed to be before it was too dark to see my marks. This weekend I hope to get the cams degreed and hopefully make an apparatus to pre-lube the engine so I can put it together.

I feel for you on this engine build. Its all first world problems but the frustration has to be out of control. When do you think she will be drive-able. And I honestly dont know what started the rebuild, what happened?

I spun the bearings in the car which shot small pieces of metal throughout every last place in the motor. I started off on this "adventure" about a year ago with a $12,000 budget and like all great government contracts it went highly over budget.

He red lined for a solid 20mins at a car show. lol
No doubt, I was trying to get peoples attention at a car show!
