what could be diff about the one in the cobra? (hates the limited knowledge he has about car...should of gone to school for cars not computers lol)

any idea on how much they might ask for at a resonable price for the rear and and trans? i really dont have a clue what would be a good offer....
 
i said that you could transfer the internals? i just ment the ring and pinions.. i think im not sure tho...

if you don't ever know something google just saying...
let me link ya what i was talking about Pro5.0 click on gears on the side... i think that 3.55 's might be in your best intrest if your that concerned
 
I know the 4.2 shortblocks will put you up there with gt's at about 260 HP... after you tt, sc, or just turbo it you should be able to hit the 500 mark relatively easy especially with the forged internals that come with the short block.... I always heard a TT will add around 4 or 5 MPG but i guess fuel injectors kill that? I am not sure... just get a 4.2 shortblock.. the powerpack and a SC or tt.. I wouldnt go with a single turbo... a single turbo is more for really high powered cars... i mean sc and tt are too but no point in getting a single turbo really... i dont think anyways..

also get a short throw shifter.. i heard tri ax is good and the pro 5.0 is good but it shifts really smooth... i dont like smooth shifting :)
EDIT: also with like 500 hp and the 4 10 gears.. your going to have traction problems and probably will have to start in second... lol maybe get ome 3 73 or 3 55.. my opinion again..
Definately a 8.8 rear end..
upper and lower control arms...
and whatever else that helps you hook up..

i cant really find anything right in any of that

a 4.2 short block its just a stroked 3.8 stock v6...230hp is more like it, the GT will still beat him so yea..

a single turbo only for high powered cars is also :bs
there are plenty of non high powered single turbos that run FINE! look at www.tmaturbo.com and Twin turboed cars can reach VERY high power as well
500hp is an unsure est. he can see up to 700rwhp or he can go as low as 350hrwhp

there are plenty of reasons to get a single turbo
-cost
-power can be match easily




anyway
a stroker kit or engine
with a 11psi procharger with bolt ons can have you at 400hp nicely plus the power pak 480hp maybe 500hp with a really good tune

s/c have potiental as well, just the amount of hp is much more limited to what you want unlike turbo
turbo you can go from 4psi to 20psi or more if you want. on tma the kit are capable of 680rwhp i believe it says
thats plenty power


also as far as gears. theres a 9 second car on here with 4.10s...or 4.30s i believe
hp has nothing to do with it

chris you mentioned a "stroker kit or engine" do you think it would be worth it to go with the 4.3L over the 4.2L? I know the redline would maybe be a bit higher but BHP on it or potential HP woth the extra?

just to be sure im not confused on what i need and were to get it:

4.2L or 4.3L engine from SSM
stage 3 powerpack from SSM
8.8 rear with upper and lower control arms from prestigemustang
diablo tuner from local shop and dyno tune

BHP total after all that maybe high 200s?

i would just get a 4.2L stroker KIT
your engine is fine
i wouldnt get a 4.3L unless your engine was ****
a stroker would get you at about 220-230hp i believe and the power pak claims "90hp" for the stage 3. if its true you'll deffinitly see high 200s or 300...i'd say 300bhp about

i'd get a SCT XCAL2 over a diablo anyday though
 
those are just forged internals
you cant get the 4.2 or 4.3 internals just the 3.8s

but thats what im gettting...i couldnt care for the other lil horses

would you like a site for stroker kits?

you'd have to get your engine bored out to get the 4.2L internals
 
so if you were to get a 4.0 stroker kit you could have a block and just put it in and add a power pack and maybe have it just dropped into your engine bay?

i think thats what im seeing as a possibility
 
well my engine is shot and i can't do much after bolt ons so i need a new engine... well im thinking build up one and then drop it in and replace the rear end... and then ... well idk
