I just purchased a 01 gt and im gonna be heavily modding it in the next year. I have been looking at superchargers and was wondering which brand is the best vortech, paxton or procharger. I want that nice whistle i have heard on you tube. Love the Kenne Bell but dont got the dough for it lol

There is no answer... Everyone is going to tell you that what they got is what they like and so on. They all are great superchargers. KB and Procharger may be the most popular. I have a Procharger but it goes on next weekend so i dont have a review on it yet. Best thing for you is to probably use the search button and you will see alot of threads with this same topic.

If you're aiming at some extra power but don't want anything too serious, and you don't plan on going over 400 RWHP, then Vortech is for you. Now I'm not saying Vortech is ONLY good for 400 RWHP, but I'm just saying when you start getting into the higher numbers, another supercharger would be better. Sure, you can always get a better Vortech headunit, but other superchargers are more efficient (according to what I've read/heard.) If you plan on more than 400 RWHP, I recommend ProCharger. I'm not too sure, but isn't ProCharger better than Paxton when aiming for higher numbers? Look at Tim Matherly, he runs a ProCharger on a 2 valve and he runs consistent nines. He's also pushing around 525 RWHP and 440 RWTQ.

Off topic, I plan on going the Kenne Bell route. It takes more savings, but it's worth it for that low end torque! I know they're not made for top end power, but they can pump out some really nice numbers!

Well it all depends on the whine that your talking about... If you want the nice little whistle when riding around or sitting at idle you want to go with a centrifigual style, but if you want the winding up noise than you need to go with a roots blower. My opinion is that the centrifigual style is going to be better in the long run. I would either go with pro charger or vortech. Def not paxton though, they are the worst. Cheap as hell and dont last very long

I've heard good reviews about the MPH Mongoose kit (Vortech). They advertise a complete kit for $3,900. But, it doesn't come with an intercooler. Procharger dealers sell complete kits with intercooler for around $4,700. Unless you want to piece together the system yourself, beware of tuner kits. They look less expensive but they do not come with fuel injectors, fuel pump, or tuner/chip.

All three sell basic supercharges (Vortech S-trim, Procharger P-1SC and Paxton Novi-1000) that are more then you will need unless you are going to spend another $5,000 to have forged rods and pistons installed in your motor. All three will give you about 350 rwhp at 8 lbs of boost. With an intercooler you can increase the boost to 10 lbs and get around 380 rwhp. With other supporting mods you can get a little more.

I picked the Procharger because it came with an intercooler and it was self-contained. The debate over self-contain is endless but there is a pretty good consensus on intercoolers. It came with a three-year warranty and after 9 months and 15,000 miles I have had no problems.

The Procharger P-1SC not only has a very distinct whistle at idle but it also has the ticking sound of an old mechanical clock.

Where have you heard paxton was the worst? I was under the impression that they made quality products

i have the p1sc and have had no problems out of it, but im considering going with a d1sc as soon as i have the money to put forged internals in my car. i wanna make more boost but i have heard the the p1sc flatlines around 16psi and it would have problems with belt slippage and such.

ive seen really great power put out from kb's prochargers and vortechs. ive never personally seen or riden in any cars with a paxton but i can say that vortech or procharger are definately trustworthy and will give you all the bang for your buck. personally id go with a vortech s trim

Vortech and Paxton are owned by the same company (or something.) Vortechs, Paxtons, and ProChargers are amazing superchargers, made of great quality. Maybe you're thinking of Powerdyne superchargers?

that all depends on what type of power you want if you want whine and gobs of low end torque you want a kenn bell its a bit pricie but it sure sounds cool when you get on it and it replaces the intake manifold our intakes aint the best production pieces that ford has ever made either but if you want top end power and that cool whisle the vortech paxton or prochager are all good and there is one more option i know its off topic but try a turbo from hp performance they are really good kits and some are pretty close to the the superchargers price wise so it all depends on what you want

from what ive seen personally so dont quote me on this a mustang with a few boltons and 100 shot will make more power and be faster than a vortech s-trim which would most likely be what he purchased
