Now i've heard of the so called wheel hop on the mustangs and i've also heard that rear lower control arms fix that issue. Now, I'm no racer but i do like my spirited driving. Would i notice any difference by getting new control arms? and if so, what brand? I have a BMR double adjustable panhard bar and its lowered 1.7inch front and back. On a same note, I'm not even all to sure WHAT wheel hop is, an explanation from someone who knows is better than a googled definition. Thanks in advance!

Getting either the Upper or Lower control Arms fix the issue. Its caused by the Upper but if you get good LCA's then it will prohibit the wheel hop too. I would look on SVTP to see if they have any on "the Market" for sale. BMR is the way to go but any will do. BMR has a low cost option for like 89 buck i believe. Great stuff. You can call BMR and kelly is the man to talk to. But the upper and lower control arms help you plant the power to the ground. Since you are lowered you want to get them with relocation brackets so that you can set your new pinion angle to the correct spec. Both are easy to install and worth it. Wheel hop is exactly what its sounds like. The wheel bounces up and down when trying to get traction. It will knock ur fillings out

Since I'm setting it to a different location, Is that something that I can do or should I bring that in?
If you talk with kelly at BMR and let him know what springs you are running and what LCA or UCA you are buying of theirs, he can tell you what hole to put it in (giggity) and it will get you within spec of your desired pinion angle. You can install it yourself tho

Thanks, I really appreciate the help, This is exactly what i needed to know! On a side note, I want to lower my car more, I'm looking for good coilovers that can drop to 3 Inches or below, Any recommendations? The most i see is 3 but i wanna maybe go lower in the future.

I take it you've never experienced wheel hop if you don't know what it is, because you will DEFINITELY know what it is when it happens. Lol. I second BMR. There's a reason everyone has their stuff. As far as coilers go BC, Ground Control, and KW are all popular options.

PB nailed it.

Ground Control (koni dampned and eibach springs if i remember correctly) is really as cheap as you want to go. I have them and like them but they really are the best cheap option. Right around 1600 if I remember correctly. Youll be at 2500 to start getting into the real good stuff. I dont know about inches for the drop but you dont want to get too low as you still have to get over speed bumps and driveways and such since you dont have the option to raise and lower it like you can with an Air setup. Mine is pretty low and as low as I want to take it. Pretty much no room to fit a finger in between fenders and tire... Plus the lower you go the lest travel you can have and then your spring rate will have to be supper high, making the ride garbage for enjoyment unless your stricktly tracking it but by the sounds of your current mods that is not the vehicles purpose. More like a fun daily or weekend car like the majority of us. Enjoy bud and let us knwo if you have more ????'s

Yea, I was looking at the BCRacing coilovers and they looked good for the price. And as far as drop is concerned, I've mainly been using this car as my daily for over 2 years now and until i get another car, thats not gonna change, I do like my spirited driving but have yet to track this car, but i do have plans in the future as theres a drag strip not too far from me. I don't think i would drop my car more than 3 inches as i don't want to be worried about speed bumps and ramps, not no mention getting a jack under the car. My tires are also staggered with 275 rear and 235 front's and im thinking of only lowering the front more for a more aggressive look, would that hinder performance/handling?

3inches seems very low, but I forgot what the norm is. I thought it was like 2. The lower you go the lower you center of gravity is so it helps with handling, but Its gonna ride real harsh as I stated a couple posts ago. When you lower you car, you are going to need a panhard bar, upper and lower control arms with relocation brackets and to get your pinion angle dialed back in. If you want to take it to the drag strip coilovers are not the ideal choice. They dont let weight transfer happen which is what is needed at the strip. They keep you flat which is good for the twisties. So if you want to hit the strip you are going to want to rethink CO's. If you want handling, your also going to want to get some more meat under the front of the car... Have fun man

I have a low profile jack and have to drive up on pieces of wood to get it to clear. I'm lowered 1.5" on bmr sp009 springs. No way you could slide a jack under a car that's lowered 3"

Yea, I might stay at 3" or 2" but I'm not too happy with the 1.5". I don't do much of track or twisties, around here its mostly highways and no back roads at all unfortunately. I'll be honest, The chances of me driving my car on the track or drag are pretty slim as i have this fear of wrecking or something of the like. Im more of a spirited driver and once in a blue moon will race someone on the highway but thats the extent of my spirited driving. If anything, theres a higher chance of me racing on track at limrock but thats ways away and quite expensive. So putting that all into account, are coilovers still a good idea?

Yeah coilovers will be great for that then. Still dont think you are going to get to 3".. Even at two i dont think you will see the top of the wheel if you are standing looking at the car. I have zero gap on my car and I think im at 2 in the rear and 1.75 front. Not sure tho. I just took it all the way till the gap was gone and high enough to get over speed pumps. I'm guessing you dont give a **** about the inch drop but you just want to get rid of wheel gap. Coilovers are great man but you will need the supporting mods regardless of a shock/strut setup or CO's. I bough two different setups before I went CO's. Should have done it from the start

Ok, So Upper and Lower Control Arms, Relocation Brackets and pinion angle is all i need to do the drop? I just want to double check so i can put a build list together.

You are going to need a pan hard bar too.

You dont need the upper and lower control arms to lower it. Just the relo brackets. But you need the upper and lower to get rid of wheel hop.

You can find most of this stuff used on the anything coyote page on facebook or SVT Market section. People are parting out their 11-14's like crazy. If you want new hypermotive is a good source.

I didn't mention the Panhard cause I already have a BMR Double Adjustable already since its already dropped a bit. Thanks for all the help guys, I really do appreciate it.

So for these coil overs from BC Racing, you have to option of getting a custom Front and Rear Spring Rate at no extra cost, Considering its a DD for me (For now) Should i get a specific Spring Rate or just leave them stock?

I would call BC racing/contact them, and possibly a few other suspension parts dealers/manufacturers for the 11-14 and ask for their recommendations. That is what I did with the coilovers I got for my 03 (though I haven't installed them yet).

I also did that for my shock/strut combo with my current suspension and the recommendations were spot on. Good luck!

I agree. When I purchased I told them what they would be used for and then I went with their recommendation.

Got any other suggestions? Im not trying to spend $2,000 on Coil overs and I'm on a pretty tight budget
