so this morning after yesterdays burnout they where chuncks of rubber on my rear fender but only on the right side and the rite DR had peices of rubber coming off but not the same on the left

i went back to the spot where i did the burnout and their was a really dark mark but only from where the right tire would have been

is my posi broken or something?

b4 i did my gears i wanted to make sure it was fine and drgnracing said to burnout and see if rubbers left from both tires...i couldnt do a burnout b4 the gears but gun it from a dig at like 4500 and there was rubber on the street from both wheels so i dont know if maybe the posi got ****ed up during the gear install

and if my posi is broken about how much is this gonna run me to fix?

and i know if i went 31 spline i would have to get my gears reinstalled but would i have to get them redone if i just got a 28 spline posi

i know chrisstorres tld me that he installed his posi himself but never did gears....

alrite...so does it sound like my posi is ****ed?

and if so its not bad for the car rite...it'll just make me like .1 slower at the track

lol dude enough with the track stuff. I don't think you should post a single thing again about being slower or faster at the track until you go. Your spider gears are probrably bad in the posi, so say hello to mr one wheel peel. But hey now you have more excuses when you do go to the track next year on why you ran consistant 14's. Even though i ran 13.6's consistantly with a broken posi.

alrite then lets not talk bout the track

but having a ****ed up posi will make me like a car lenght slower on the street but otherwise doesnt hurt my car at all rite

Seeing as there are cars that come stock without posi, I wanna say it's safe to say it's fine without it, but seeing as yours just went, I don't know if there will be any damage. But as White99stang said, he was driving his car on the track with a broken posi, and I'm sure he wouldn't race it if it would of caused more damage, so I'm leaning towards the "it's safe to drive" side. Either way, I'll let somebody else with a little more knowledge answer this one.

dude there is just no explanation on how your thought process works. I really truly honestly think you were born to drive a honda crx. But hey here is a answer that i guess you are looking for, yes it can hurt your car, break things in the rearend. so now you are going to have wait to get that uca and lca's cause your gonna need to spend more money on the rearend. Wait isn't this what i told you was going to happen. I bet your almost out of money now too aren't ya.

I take back what I said in my post about a broken posi being fine to drive on, as White99stang just corrected me. V6 Mustangs might not come with posi stock, but since there's no posi, it's not broken. Yours on the other hand is broken, and I can only guess that driving it - especially hard the way you do - can only cause more damage and hurt more things. Ever heard of the domino effect?

DeMello, you know how everybody says to drive it like you stole it? Don't take it so literally. From what I'm seeing in your posts, you're driving your car hard every single day. Sure it's ok to step on it here and there, but not to the extreme. If you want your car to last, you have to take care of it, and driving it like you stole it EVERY day sure isn't gonna help.

yeah pop off the cover of the rearend and see if your spider gears are all jacked up. If you are only doing a 1 wheel peel than the differential is done plain and simple.
+1

so could it have gotten ****ed up during the gear install

and this will proably lead to me needed to convert to 31 spline rite sooner (which will run like a grand)

no, 31 spline is only for people that actually take their cars to the track... haha

but since its ****ed up already i would put in a Cobra 31 spline diff and 31 spline axles too...
