this has proablly been asked a million times but is it possible from a 5.0
(302) engine? I was gonna supercharge running about 10lbs. put the i beleave e303 cam?(the one they use for supercharger setups) and a cobra upper and lower in take. Then prob a limited slip 3.73 gear ratio in rear. Would that get me close to 500 at the wheels? On that list of upgrades is a full motor rebuild but i wanna blow it up first i think theres like 131xxx on my motor now not sure? previous owner didnt know eather. it reads 31xxx though but idc. I wanna blow it up. My trans is also messin up tooo...it likes to throw itself outta 1st gear so i take of in 2nd....1st gears over rated.

if ne one can help or give thare opion it would be gr8....idc if u even call me stupid?

prob a vortech? besides less boost= more power

at least thas wat i just read in the article out of the muscle mustangs&fast fords?
you have got to be shitting me :D It also depends on how efficient the blower is at higher boost levels.

Turbo will get you there better than an s/c will.

Guy corral just made 488rwhp on stock block with Twistedwedge heads
and same cam and intake you have. At 10psi with Mustang Turbo Kits turbo kit.

btw: 500rwhp is pushing limits of block, but can be done.

Nitrous will get you there best, and cheaper.:p

Dynos vary, but a boosted 5.0 will usually can go past the 500hp voodoo point with no problems.

Sure, I've got a bud in Dallas making 790rwhp on a stock block.
Lasted 2 seasons of hard 1/8th mile racing ......... so far...........:tomato

I hear that, THATS pushing it. I always try to bring up the magic 500 block splitting number, cause some guys new to the 5.0 game usually have a common misconception that the block splits at HP on every engine, Ive seen a low HP block fail, and a few 600+hp blocks last.

I did not read the article but that makes sense. Boost is not a measure of flow or volume of air. It is the build up of air in the intake. It is a useless reading for comparing changes or different engine combinations. To get something more useful for comparison purposes, you should rig something up to the MAS and correct for temperature maybe to read out air flow readings.
If you can generate 14# with stock E7 heads, you may only make 10# with some decent flowing AFR's but you will have a lot more air flow and a lot more power. The reason is the air flow has less restriction and does not build up in the intake system creating that higher boost measurement, it actually flows into the cylinders allowing you to add more fuel and make more power. A lot of the specifics depends on the operating range of the SC like Iownastang said.
Think of blood pressure. Clogged arteries is a smaller path for blood to flow, with the smaller path, blood pressure goes up but overall there is a reduction in blood flow.

the article basically says that if u turbo something or s/c something to dial it in at 1 set psi rating in example 10psi (on a completly stock motor) then start upgrading (heads cam intake etc.) When they put the heads on the stock motor it lowerd there boost by 1.5 or so but gave them more hp. same w/cam and intake. the lbs of bosst changes but not by much. SO in a sense less is more?

thas pretty much wat they explained in it. in a nutshell.

um more boost= more power cause basically more boost = more compression
get a twin screw s/c or a twin turbo

500hp with a power adder is easy with a 302.

False!
