Steeda Suspension- Suspension Questions

How do you guys feel about Steeda's Suspension parts? They must be good becuase of all their wins... Think they surpass FRPP's? I would think not...but then again Ford doesn't like to make us parts that actually make us FASTER- other than the SC. ANYWAY!! Would a spring/shock combo be better over coilovers? The car IS a street car, but it WILL be road-race ready. Here's the thing though...I wouldnt MIND adjustablilty...but I don't think I need it. I just want a stiff ride that'll let me take off-ramp blasts at 80mph haha:cool:
Can anyone give me some insight to this?

Do you want to go low? I have tokico Hps and BMR lowering springs. I like them alot. If you want adjustability you should get the Tokico D-spec. I can get you whatever parts you need for a great price.

If you want to road race you will definetly want the dspecs because they offer the adjustability to go from a stock like ride to nice and tight for the corners in minutes.

Another thing I would look into is a watts link.

It keeps the rear end under control while cornering much better than the panhard bar setup that comes stock.

I have the steeda sport springs and the tokico d-specs and my car handles like a dream!! the springs give it a nice ride height and not too harsh. steeda does have great suspension components. the only drawback I feel is sometimes they can be a bit pricey, but within time they realized that paying for the name steeda doesn't quite cut it, and eventually drop the prices down where they should be.

since your looking for road racing and blasting off the ramp, I'd highly recommend the Tokico D-Specs. you will greatly benefit with the Steeda Sport springs as well, for they are a progressive type spring. but you may also look at Eibach Pro-Kit springs as well.

just remember when you change your ride height, be ready to buy other parts for your vehicle to compensate for the drop and the change in suspension geometry

+1...i have the steeda components and dspecs in my sig...car handles like a dream...huge difference over stock. I also like the ride height, which is very aggressive, but not so low as to scrape on everything. Dspecs are very easy to adjust. I really like the stance of the frpp package but i've heard from several people that the dampers and springs arent matched properly, making for an unneccesarily harsh ride over bumps. All that being said, if u really want a true road race setup, i'd probably recommend coilovers for the ultimate in adjustability. If u want a badass street/corner carver, you'll love the dspecs

lol. frpp might argue that they make a lot of parts to make us faster. thos dampers and springs they sell are on some of the mustang race cars they sell. they are good springs and good dampers. I guess your talking about the steeda coil over conversion for our car. that is nice setup, pretty pricey. Dont know how to measure which is better. I take my car to the road course, going next friday actually, and will probably be at the strip on wed. i like my bilstiens with the frpp springs. car handles like you wouldnt beleive now. Im just one of the few that doesnt want adjustable shocks. i want my car to be my car, ill adjust my driving. either way you go is tokico's from mustang fanatic, or frpp or steeda, its all good stuff.

thanks for all the great input guys! I appreciate it! So I think it's safe to assume the D-specs are my best bet. Now...steeda sells a "competition" spring for "dual-purpose" cars... is the price jump worth it over the normal sportlines or eibach sportlines? I'll pay for quality, when its worth it hahaha

again its not a question of quality. those comp springs from steeda are stiffer race springs. so the ride quality will suffer some. It depends on whats important to you. banging exit ramps is not pushing the handling limits of your mustang. How many times will you see a race track is the question.

other way around. the sports drop the car 1 and 1.25, the race springs drop it 1.6 and 1.9

maverick once again check your facts before you answer questions. the eibach sportlines drop the car what i said they drop the car. how many sets have you sold and installed? no eibach springs drop the car what you just said. unreal.

i appologize 07stanggt, throughout the post I thought we were talking about the steeda springs, not the eibachs. thats what I was correcting, the steedas.

no problem dude. yea he went from steeda comp springs to eibachs. thats why i said totally different setup really.

From what i've read on other forums, the steeda "competition" spring is only slightly stiffer than the "normal" eibach springs. The sportlines probably arent the best for handling...that much of a ride height change is bound to mess with the suspension geometry.

So quick question... I'm looking at getting bilsteins or tokicos... which shock for the rear do you think would work well for my mustang...keeping in mind it's lowered 1.5"? Because I bought the Eibach pro dampers and they're already gone.

Neither and I own the Tokico D-Specs. The Bilsteins are flat out overpriced. Take a look at the Konis, they make an adjustable and non adjustable version. Both are a very good shock and have great pricing. Eventually I'll probably end up ditching my Tokico D-Specs for a set of the Koni Adjustables.

steeda is solid, they make good stuff, and they win alot of **** with it. There are better choices, but if you want a street setup that you can drive reasonably comfortably and then drive directly on to the track and do well, steeda is a solid choice.

I have saleen suspension with steeda parts also. Both are going to do me solid. If you are not building a pure road race car then they you can't go wrong.

+1 I am running the Koni adjustables and they are the tits. Also holy old thread!
