I know the tq tune produces its power in the 1500-3000 RPM , the Performace produces its power above 3000, and the Race tune produces its power throughout the RPM range. In a drag race, wouldn't be better to use the performance or race tune. With street tires normal launch is in the 2000 to 2500 RPM range. In no time at all you are above the tq tunes pwr and into the per. tune range and remain there for the entire race.

high occupancy vehicle or something like that...they have them here in New York also. you need 3 or more people in the car to get in an HOV lane. They generally move faster than regular lanes

How in the **** are you guys getting 23mpg and above when I only get ~18. Must be because I drive like I'm in drag race all the time huh?

When I bought my tunes from Bamachips I asked Doug about the differences. The Torque tune give more power down low making it more fun to drive light to light, hence torque tune. The race tune gives kick ass throttle responce and more hp up high but gives up a little down low. And the performance tune is the same as the race tune with less throttle responce, making it better for automatic trans drivers.
Now the hyjacked thread.......
I use the race tune and have gotten 27.5 mpg on the hwy and 21 in the city if I baby her.

clogged fuel filter or injectors maybe
The Ford dealership just changed the fuel filter when I did my first oil service. It's used but I just got it about 2 months ago. So clogged injectors is a possibility? I never had a complaint about it performance-wise but I keep reading about everyone getting better mileage than me here. So if I remove and clean my injectors that could improve my mileage? Could I expect any acceleration improvements too? As I said, I don't have any complaints as far as that goes but more is always better.

There is something wrong. I don't know if a fuel injector cleaner would help that much. At 70-75 you should be getting 25-27 MPG. Did you address the concern with the dealer?

everytime i switch from the performance tune back to the race tune is a smile all over again. eventually somewhere down the road i end up switching back. don't know why maybe because i seem to get and extra 1-2 mpg
