Alright ive already looked through search and cant find it. Im buying a diablosport tuner and i would like to know how to tell if it is locked or not.
Cause im buying it locally and i need to know when i go to pick it up if it is locked or not. Like maybe if when i hook it up to my car will it flash a symbol or somthing saying that it is locked.

thanks

Not sure about the diablo, but on my buddys xcal, we plugged it into my car when it was locked and it literally acted as if it was unlocked. It let us go through all the options and change things around and as soon as you go to upload the tune it says wrong vin or something along those lines

Just look up the last saved tune, it should have the stock one there.

and how do u unlock one?

well easiest way is to make sure the owner before you puts the stock tune back on there car so it will become unlocked, it only becomes locked once it has a VIN saved in its memory from when a tune is installed. if not you have to send it back to Diablo, but ive heard they arnt to friendly when it comes to unlocking a locked predator because that means 2 people used 1 predator to tune there cars and its not ment for that.

well ya, i understand that they dont want ppl sharing the tuners, cuts into their $$$

very good idea, id see if it was unlocked be4 i even gave him my money

yea deff, cause im not getting screwed on somthing stupid like that. Im gonna ask to look at it and check first then if its good ill get it. The way i look at it is that i can do alot more than just tune with it. Read codes, afr ratios all that stuff. Also if i dont like it i can always sell it to my friend that talks **** about my stang and i can sell it to him for more after i put my stock tune back on mine :D .

There is an option on the Predator where you can find out the last tune written which should be returning the stock tune to the original owners car. If not, someone is trying to pull one over one you.
Not dogging on the Predator Programmer at all, and it sounds like you are getting a great price....however, I just did a tune on my Mach using Sniper, I base lined my power output off of the Predator tune I already had loaded then loaded up the Sniper tune. The Sniper tune netted me 24 more horsepower over the Predator. Not to mention that the power output was very erradic from mid to high rpms with the Predator. I'm selling my Predator now.
