Well, theres this guy selling me a 2003 Silver Cobra for 18,000 it has 16,000 miles on it. Im going to see if I can go take a look a it these weekend. If everything was ok, would you guys do it? Is there a big mpg diference between the two?

an 03 cobra with that low of miles for 18000 sounds to good to be true. if it is legit I would do it in a minute would not think twice. he could easily get 25000 for it with that low mileage.

If everything checks out with the car(let a mechanic see it) I would jump on it in a second......forget about difference in gas mileage, if you wanna play you gotta pay-lol
keep in mind also that at first when you are driving it you are going to want to try it out so gas mileage would suck any way

The price does sound to good to be true, but the KBB private party value on that car is only $18,900 in excellent condition with those miles. The price on these cars is really dropping and maybe this guy just wants it gone. When I was shopping for a Cobra all the guys on SVTP where just bitching because they couldn't sell their cars. When in reality the problem was these guys were living in a dream world and wanted thousands abouve book value.

Like said before, just check it out CLOSELY!!!

id just keep your gt at this point and throw some boost at it, you have a very nice mod list already and the car looks nice plus you dont know wut youre really getting wit a used car

Heres the thing, theres a lot to consider. For one, whats your plans with it, are you going to keep it as a collectable? Or drive the pants off of it and dont worry about what its going to cost you for every mile you put on it. Lets say it checks out and its clean. The one thing that I walked away from in buying a Cobra that I had a chance at and the GT I bought, was one fairly simple thing. I knew I wanted to drive it, not just look at it. And for the price that I was paying for it, I would have lost about three grand just because of the miles I put on it over the process of the last year. And with the THOUSANDS of dollars I saved on buying that Cobra, I put it into suspension and now am looking at motor options that should exceed what the Cobra is putting out for horsepower anyway. And to top it off, I have car that I dont loose sleep over when I drive it 200 miles a week. And I know, its just a GT, but it just may kick the pants off your Cobra on the road course. Thats even more satisfying. Just my opinion,

Id get it, and the mpg for a 03 cobra Is better than your gt if im not mistaken
Your mistaken. i get 180-220 to 14 gallons in the cobra. . . . . compared to 230-250 to 13 gallons in the gt

i would drive 600 miles a week in a cobra and lose no sleep
HAH! Same here. I'm at 73,000 on my supercharged Mach and 30,000 on my sport bike. And I lose no sleep over either. They're meant to be driven. Enjoy them!

The second you buy anything, it loses value. Just the nature of the beast.
