I have been looking into possibly buying a nitrous kit for my mach 1. Would that be ok or would saving up massive dinero for a SC be better? And what shot amount for a nitrous kit would be best for a n/a engine, besides the C&L CAI..

What's your goal for the car? What do you use it for? Are you willing to build the bottom end, or are you wanting this to be basically a bolt-on deal?

+1 you are the only one that answer your own question there nikbait. If you just want the cheapest 100hp then its the spray if you wanna build the motor and get big power then you can do either one. You can't put alot of boost to the stock Mach bottom end because the compression is too high for boost on those cast pistons. but you can run low boost or you can run a 100-150 shot with good tune and colder plugs.

That's what I was figuring, no more than 100 shot. Yeah, basically doing bolt ons, as I cannot afford the supercharger, nor can I afford a new bottom end....how hard is it to install the nitrous kit?

Depends on the kit. You can knock a complete kit out in a couple hours. With a 100 shot, colder plugs would be all you "have" to have but to be safe and just incase you wanna go bigger, get a tuner.

OK, so any kit brand recommendations? My dad had a nos kit on his 66 fastback, but he ended up having mucho problems with it, so took it off. Of course he sold that car, I really could KILL him for it LOL. BUT, that car was freakin ass fast!
And what plugs should I use?

I like spray, I'm pushing the limits of my stock internals right now, but I don't care. I'm ripping the motor out this fall. I'm running an AMS NX EFI Stage 1 kit. .073/.082 jets or a 175 shot. I ran 4 passes at the track, and no problesm as of yet. My car runs good, it comes on hard.

Holy crap man, you got some mods on that mach! I could not ever imagine putting all that on the mach.
She's already got a CAI, short shifter, and catback. So that's a start:)

You won't need a pump unless you go over 150 shot or if you do all the bolt ons and a 100+ shot then you will need one. With the mods you have you can run a 100 shot without a new pump. However if you decide to do more mods or go to 150 shot then get a new pump. I reccommend the Ford GT supercar pump, that will be enough for everthing you are gonna throw at it. They are about $80
