look at this vid go to 44 seconds then pause....custom Y pipe into single chamber...would that not add more backpressure??

slightly as exhaust pulses colided with each other... sounds like this guy used to own a f-body. but backpressure = torque.

Might look nice ... sounds like dirt.

come on... yall only heard a couple of revs.... you didnt even hear it taking off

I bet it sounds unreal leaving under load.

That's kinda like my theory about a fart eventually smelling better ... they don't, you just learn to deal with it.

oh my god man .... my farts smell like **** and my shits smells life flowers..

this is pretty much a stock ss camaro. sounds mean.

the crackling is distinctive to the heated o2's igniting the rich mustang tune.

The camaro sounded better ... but understand I grew up around motors truly deserving of "open" exhaust systems ... most were bigger then 350's. So hearing a sub-302 venting thru open systems is a bit "immitating" to me ... especially when they hack or gurggle thru it. I appreciate systems that reflect the respective CI they're attached to.

lol immitating... yea, 281 ci dont need much an exhaust system... these mustangs would have been fine with a y to single... but I dont think america would have standed for a mustang gt with one tail pipe... oh yea the gto... oops. big flop.

that system is barely open man. a flowmaster with a big peice of metal in the middle of it might as well be the flowcrapster.

the hack and gurgle is a rich tune and heated o2's.

Don't get me wrong, it would have been rediculous not to have duals on the GT's ... but perform a sanity check on what you do with it after that is all I'm saying.

Edit: As an example, we've all bashed the ricer who has the big fart can (some you can even adjust or stage out) for trying to act like "muscle".

I've seen plenty examples of the samething going on with Mustangs over the last 8 years ... YouTube has hundreds of examples of "dual fart cans" on (unfortunatley) Mustangs ... trying to be bigger then what they really are. I think this motor sounds really good with the exhaust it has ... and there are some great examples of improving that sound with add-on's ... just appreciate the limits so you don't find yourselve competing with the fart can guys.

^^^ agreed... lol said well! I take it your saying the dude wasted his time.... your right. he spent a bunch of money on something NOT needed and the better alternative is already in mass production, cheaper, by a bunch of manufactures.

even if was a single exit it still had true straight pipe duals even the h on the car was for bracing in fact the 04's sound better than the rear muffler 05 06's stock for stock

what?

yeah dude all gto's had true duals most modded 05+ gto owner will even agree

no as in I had no idea what you just said... I know ALL goats have had true duals... I'm talking about cosmetically... one tail pipe on each side of the bumper.

the one tail pipe was a contributing factor for people calling it a gloryified grand-am

thats what I meant.

You know IMO it WAS a glorified grand-am ... it was the same chassis, body design, they just stuffed a different powertrain in it, made it 2-dr and that was that. The exhaust sealed the deal ...

GM missed the boat with that one, they could have done so much more with bringing the GTO back then that lame attempt.

yea it was.... really with the vettes IRS. and a camaro engine and tranny (4l crapster e)

if it looked more like the challenger... or mustang, (which isnt it ironic that the new camaro has IRS, 4l60e, ls3 or 92?) instead of a grandam it might have sold better

IMO. the new camaro is just a restyled GTO.
