I, like everyone else with that kit, had the same problem. What I did was cut some vacuum line to length and wrap the hanger pole thing (no ****ing idea what its called) and problem solved!

Or you could just dump that kit and get something better. That is what I ended up doing, and I'm 110% glad I did.

Pypes = Cheap (both in cost, and in quality).

IMO the mid-muffler kit has the best sound though. I got the whole thing welded together and fixed up at a shop... I don't think i could change my setup now. It's nice being differant from everybody else... i'm always told that my car sounds differant than any other s197.

Juco,

I thought the Pypes Mid-Muffler was the **** as well, until my Bassani's really broke in... and now there is no comparison. The Pypes are deep, no doubt, but they lack the detail that the Bassani's give (at least with a cammed setup). You can really hear the high end up the spectrum with the Bassani's, and the Pypes just sounded flat. With the Bassani's, you can hear the valves... not the Pypes.

But hey, exhaust is the most subjective thing about these cars, and we all have things we like. I'm glad you like your Pypes and I'm glad I like my Bassani's :)
