nice stangfreak. i dont think battle boxes will help.

iownastang, its weldable but i dont know if its safe like that. the whole box that goes from one side of the car to the other is split in the middle and where the upper control arm (pass side) bolts on the whole peice of the box is broke off. ive seen em pull away but never break. ill get some pics as soon as fay quits pissin her remains over memphis

I took all the heater core, air ducting, and blower motor out from under the dash and that alone had to weigh about 50 Lbs.

Also like mentioned before, getting rid of the carpet padding helps a lot.
How would someone go about doing this, would i have to take apart the dash at all or can i just take them out from crawling up and underneath the dash? Or does any one know of any sites that give ya some kind of step by step intrustions ? I was j/w if its not insanely hard to do and i dont have to take the dash off/out then i wouldnt mind doing it. I already dont have A/C and the car wont be seeing cold weather. Anyone have any advice? Thanks guys! - The Novice.

Other than tires, smog pump, and air conditioning, What are some good ways to shed weight in an 88 gt? I got rid of the rear seat seat belts, because i dont need them. No stereo, no smog pump.. Im looking around the car seems bare already lol what else can i do to lighten her up?
Losing 100 pounds is a tenth in the 1/4 but its all about where u lose the weight. I would change your k member, put a fuel cell in, rear suspension, dont mess with the dash people like the dash in a race car, or street car so keep it. Also you can do a fiberglass hatch, doors, and hood thats a pretty good chunk right there. You can also ditch the power steering if you really want to lose weight but then there hard to turn if your not use to it.

how much weight will a tubular k member and a-arms shed?
Depends on which company you use and whether the parts are mild steel or chromoly. Roughly save 40 pounds with mild steel and 50 with chromoly.

I know I've posted this before but here is a link to some factory and aftermarket weights.

yeah I agree like there is a kid that live down the street from me that has a black gt that he pulled all the bumper supports and interior,ac power steering everthing. It's just one seat basicly, We both had, intake exhaust, at the time. He would beat me by like a car, I paid 150 bucks got gears and I would pull him by a little over a car and I still had ac, powersteering, a radio lol. I think for a street car I like to buy a little power rather than strip it.

old pic, i figure with gears, the slicks that i have now, a few more bolt ons, suspension and a good tune it should be one FAST street car, im focusing on the Mustang's weaknesses and i think ill be able to destroy lots of tuners and sports car around the street for half the money they spent on their cars.

100 shot of Nitrous will always help too...

i cant wait to bring my car into a weight in station and see what is weighs

i also removed the front sway bar (better weight transfer to rear) and 22lbs less up front

2 days ago i removed the fog lights and bracket pretty heavy as well

i want to see how fast 1/4 mile i can go with stock motor i think thatll be real impressive
<-- 12.95 @ 106 bone stock motor ( except for the k & n panel filter ) 87 coupe, , exhaust, 373s, welds, alum d/s adj fuel press reg. , suspension ( more towards road race , totally wrong for dragracing ) , t5, welds and dragradials, no lightening whatsoever ( except for the rims and alum driveshaft )

see 86 notch, thats what im talking about that is amazing! 12.95 stock motor! man when u go race people who have spent 5 to 10 grand on there motor and still run 13's u must get a kick out of that!

eventually im going to put a completly built engine (turbod) and then put down some serious numbers but for now, budget street car
