so someone hit my car today. and then took off. i didnt see it but i know i need a new bumper. would it be cheaper the just but a new one myself and have it painted? what do they go for and how much would it be to have a shop paint it. or does anyone know of any good shops in nj that would add my deductable onto my bill?

Stupid question I'm sure but did you file an accident report or anything? Cameras that caught it? Anything like that? Insurance should cover it.
not if he only has liability

no i have full coveragejust didnt know if it was worth paying the 500 deductable and having it on my record if i could get a bumper myself and have it painted cheaper. i looked all around where i live trying to find somone with a smashed up front end but no luck. and my insurence said dont bother with the police report they ont do nothing to find them

mine got swiped in a parking lot on the rear quarter/tail light last year at cruising the coast... it sucks for sure
You goin this year?

Sorry for off topic. When I got rear ended the cheapest place that I found that would fix it(bumper, paint, foam stuff, and labor) was a Cockrel's Body shop for like $500, so Im sure if you did it your self it would be cheaper.

Yeah if the police don't have anything and there's no evidence, best just to take care of it yourself. I actually might be able to help you out. there's a guy on craigslist around here selling a rear bumper with supports and stuff for 75. 99-04 mustang GT rear bumper with support in black

Might be worth looking into.

if you are found to not be at fault your rates won't increase, and it is known on your record that it wasn't your fault.
