no good before i decide power adder i gotta build my stock block that i have in the shop....no new motor or anything like that. i guess ill just figure it out thanks
You telling me you want 500 HP + out of your stock block? With all the money you are going to spend i would just get a block that can hold that much HP without any worries.

u wanna know what ur gonna be building before u start to build it..so u can build it right from the beginning instead of going back or wishing u did somthing else cause that how problems start. lol and quick reminder, u definitely want somthing stronger than that t-5 for 500hp and ull probably have close TQ numbers and thats what rips tranny's apart..but the g-force t-5 is badass..maybe consider doing that with a DF centerforce clutch

Good call on the Tranny, lol i forgot, woops. Yeah TQ kills tranny's depending on how much money you have i would rethink this, when you want that much HP the Motor is not the only thing that comes into play here. Theres the Tranny, Cooling, Reinforcing the frame (PS- good idea to weld the TQ box's). And of course neon lights ( Just Kidding ). But all these things come into play.

Its always a good idea to try to set a budget, you may go over it but at least that way you are more than likely able to finish your project, b/c lets face it, it sucks when ya dont have enough money to finish a car. And no one wants that to happen. We might be able to help you a little more if you have a general price range. But a 400HP+ Mustang is a project but can be well worth the work:D

leave the tranny out of this for now i want a 400+ motor sitting in my garage stroker or not i am looking for the most reliable 400hp street motor. just dont know what kits to get or what way is the best to go.

Well depends a littel on the heads would you rather have a 306 or something small, or a 347? It matters a little bit with the cc of the heads.

Trick flow actually makes a kit that will make 360HP in a 306 with your mods and there heads. Plus if you get the stage 2 cam as an upgrade you would prob. be close to 400HP, and with a 331 or 347 or something you can prob get a mild cam and still see 400HP.

this is where im stuck i dont really care if its a 331 347 or 306, all that really matters to me is the end result. i would like to run a big cam and have the 400+ hp available but im not familiar with the products that make that happen such as the pistons, rods, cranks, rings, bearings all that stuff is new to me. yea ive rebuilt motors and worked with all these things but i have never had to buy them and have to worry about what will hold up and what product im really getting my money's worth from. when all is said and done i would like to have a 350/375hp motor to run before adding boost. but i still want it it to be able to handle the extra strain without buying a new block....i want to push the stock block to the end of its comfort zone. but not go that little extra that may blow it or may not..sorry for the novel

Well Obviously more cubic inches will gain you more HP. But its really up to you. It can ad up to bore a motor too. But i dont see why not? If you went 347 And Stroked it this would be the site to look at. Most people here know about this guy Woody some way or another, call this place and they will gladly help with any and all questions you may have. Heres there site, look at the Stroker kits for 347 Windsor.

FordStrokers.com 331-347-393-408-418-427 stroker kits and ford parts. - Ford Stroker Kits :: Coast High Performance Rotating Assemblies :: 347 Stroker Rotating Kits

Also if you are looking at possible boost your gunna want to keep low compression. Also with all the HP you want i would uprgrade to H beam's if possible. But trust me when i say call these guys and they will help you out with all of your questions. Then know there stuff for sure!

And just wondering, have you ever had 400HP+ in a car before? Just wondering im not here to call you out, but you may be surpised with how content you might be. If i were you i would do just motor for now, cruise around in the new ride for a while and see how you like it before you deside to spend more money, but either way you will be happy. And with the right 347 stroker kit you can make 400HP + without a problem.
