Well...not sure what is wrong with my car but it sounds like a blown engine or rod. Rich/07stanggt and I cruised to the Ocean City endless summer event. I was cruising under 2000 rpm, the temperature and oil pressure was perfectly normal. Any time I went up tp 2500 I heard a rattling/knocking sound and it sounded like it was under the car. As long as it was under 2000 it was perfect. I pulled over in a parking lot to check it out. When the car was in neutral and revved I didn’t hear it. I thought it was loose header or pipe in the exhaust. Well coming home it killed over. Again I was cruising around 2000 rpms and I heard a sound that sounded like when a car is running and you accidentally turn the ignition. Like a high screech sound. then it sounded like a broken airplane propeller spinning and banging around. The car stalled so I pulled over. The car starts and runs but the horrible loud noise it still there. I hope it is the fly wheel or something minor but I wont know till Monday when my mechanic looks at it. I dont run the car hard at all so I am really puzzled. My mafia mass air flow lights up red when car is running-not sure what that means. I pray I don’t need a new engine. The motor runs and is not seized up. Any ideas of what I may be facing. Rich filmed me cruising down so I will have him post my cars last battle cry. I should have filmed the engine after the damage and post. maybe if I can get a ride up to the car I will do that. At normal idle at a red light and when cruising at 2000 rpm again the car sounded and ran perfect, even when I was over 2000 rpm there wasn’t any hesitation or power loss, it just sounded like the exhaust was loose-banging and rattling like pots and pans-not too loud at first but now-HOLY ****. Again any thoughts and advice would be appreciated. I have bumper to bumper warrant that is still in place...but still I don’t know what it covers and at what deductible if any.
