If I dump my exhaust will it sound any different from outside of my car? Will it give me any performance gains? Right now I have a cat back flowmast but I plan on getting bbk long tubes and mid pipe in the future.
I think clamps last a lot longer than welding on, specially aluminumized pipes. The parts that are welded takes away the aluminized coating and it tend to rust A LOT around the weld and it quickly becomes the weak point or a hole. I've had a flowmaster catback on my 91 for about 7 years now with SS clamps and there is nothing but a little surface rust on the muffler itself.yea id hate to get caught without cats. cops are real deuschs around here. and im not to fond of clamping exhaust down i prefer welded. helps me sleep better at night.
i'd have to disagreeI think Lx's look horrible without tailpipes.
Or better yet, factory type ball and socket flanges. Leak proof seal and easy to get on and off when you need to......and you will need to.yea id hate to get caught without cats. cops are real deuschs around here. and im not to fond of clamping exhaust down i prefer welded. helps me sleep better at night.
if ya think turn downs is loud and annoying try driving around with a off road x-pipe alone. No cat back. That is annoyingly loud. And now i am rolling around with one flowmaster w/o turn down or tail cuz the other that i had clamped fell off in the highway.
