so, out of bootcamp, have myself a little savings. i drive a 2001 mustang bullitt. only mods so far bigger pullies, CAI, predator, exhaust, something else minor is slipping my mind.

so, i need another enthusiasts advice. just the expert stuff please. what should i put in performance wise? eventually thinking super charger but i can handle that. as of now, i just wanna know what should be done. i know eventually will need to upgrade ecu (WHERE DO I DO THAT?) and what else.

HELP!!! thanks robert

You will never need to upgrade ecu. It will always be able to be tuned. You just need to go to a dyno, they will make a tune (well a few) and upload it to your car.

You can upgrade gears, if they havent already been. General rule is 3.73 FI or 4.10 N/a.

Cams could also be done. Just get blower cams if your thinking supercharger. You will still get gains n/a, but the charger will just unlock the potential to them.

Long tube headers (you just said exhaust), so im assuming you just have x/h or catback. That will give you good numbers, more so that you have the bullitt intake.

These are just things that you wouldn't have to swap out later if you got a charger.

gears, a tune, a bottle and some drag radials would be a great start for a bullitt

headers, gears, short throw shifter, bigger pullies??? i thought UDP were smaller....then once you are fully bolt-on you can throw some giggle juice on there and get a good dyno tune and you will be set until you have the money for a built bottom end, H/C, and a supercharger.

c&l maf, ported t/b, extrude hone intake manifold, head work, gears, headers, and maybe cams. if you know how you are going to make the boost (positive displacement, centri), go ahead and get ams for it. if you dont know, then just wait. the bullitt has a little differenct grind than a normal gt, but nothing spectacular.

i have an 03' saleen s281 N/A (same motor as you) my gears (3.73), o/r x-pipe, and cams were the best mods i have done ... each of those mods you can notice.. something like a throttle body .. your really not going to feel (seat of the pants) but once you get some good flow in the engine and out of the engine you will notice all those parts working together to give you the feel you want .. i know i repeating what everyone is saying but.. yea thats my 2 cents

Go suspension + tires. I didn't know how much traction I wasn't getting until I let someone else drive my car this weekend. He never drove a mustang before and was just on it all the way and it just spun like a mofo. I have learned to hold back, but man if I could just get away with going all in id love it.

the bullitt has a different intake manifold, and cams. the bullit may have the same short block, but is a little different above that. the saleen is set up the same as the gt, and all have the same rotaing assembly.

I love it when people make these posts, get great responses. And never come back to check and reply..
