someone mentioned that the subframe connectors would help put more of the hp to the rear wheels. Is that true?
Technically yes, as you're no longer "wasting" energy twisting the frame. I doubt you'd see much of a gain at the dyno, though, maybe half a hp?

Oh, and +1 on the Bilsteins.

where you'll really notice the difference is on the street! :)

i'm actually doing full suspension on my car within the next month or so. the bilsteins that come stock on my coupe i think are good enough for me, so i'll just be doing springs and delrin bushing my irs and control arms, cc plates, and bumpsteer kits. maybe i'll upgrade the shocks if i'm not pleased...

i told one of my friends that i wanted to put a new supercharger on it and he said i would have to make the rear end stronger to hold up to the power. Is that true and if it is what would i need to make stronger?

the stock intercooler will bolt right up, the charger is a direct replacement. as for beefing up the rear, the diff brace is a must. if you really want to make it as strong as possible you can buy level 5 half-shafts, but they will run you $1500 :puke

If I had a Cobra, then I would most definately swap in a solid axle, but that is me. I don't much care how the car handles in the turns.
Even if you do, the solid-axle can be a better choice for corners, provided that you don't use the stock 4-link setup. The Cobra IRS was designed primarily to bolt up in place of the live axle, not to handle or perform well; it was function following form, if you will.

From what I've seen the only advantages of the IRS are lower unsprung weight (thought not much), better weight balance (by being heavier than the live axle, lol), and no rear end shimmy. Theoretically you can also adjust the rear alignment (camber/toe), but I'm not sure how much angle you can actually change on these units.

The rear end shimmy be negated by installing a panhard bar or watts-link, though I'd highly suggest NOT using such things with the stock setup, as it will bind even worse.

I am into corners (could care less about 1/4 mile, to be honest), and I don't see any advantage to the Cobra IRS over an aftermarket setup with the live axle.

and by swapping to a SRA, you also lose 145 lbs. off your car!!!!

this is my everyday care so im planning on keeping the irs but from either whipple or kb its around $3000 does tht come with everything i need to put it on
Install it? Yes Run it safely? No

As I stated before...

You will need:

Cool air or ram air intake
Cat back
X or H pipe
Possible aftermarket throttlebody or ported stock T/B
Injectors
MAF extender (such as a MAFia or SCT 2800)
Boost a pump with wiring upgrade
Possibly fuel pumps
Possibly a fuel hat
Handheld tuner (diablosport or SCT)
Mail order or dyno tune (preffered)
Idler kit (Billetflow)
Different belt

What I would reccomend:

IRS brace (billetflow and steeda make good ones)
Good sticky tires (gotta put that power to the ground)
It's also nice to have some nice 10.5 inch wheels so you can run wider tires
Full length subframe connectors (also helps put the power to the ground)
Poly bushings for the IRS and control arms
26 spline input shaft and a good clutch
Quality aftermarket shifter (MGW)
Aftermarket boost gauge
Wideband
Lowering springs or stock springs with 3/4 coil cut off

This is gonna run you quite a bit of coin especially if you aren't doing the wrenching yourself.

Not to sound like a dick but if this is your first horsepower heavy car, you should probably do your mods progressively and get used to the amount of power your car has. Rather than throw a twin screw on there and shoot for 600whp right off the bat. I don't know your age, driving experience , or your knowledge of cars but it seems to me you are kinda new to the car world. I don't want to hear about how you put your new Cobra into a tree or killed somone because you weren't used to the power and pulled somthing stupid. That being said, take my opinion however you like. :)
