So what i originaly thought was maybe my trans or clutch going (you can most deffinitly flame me for that)!...might be my brake caliper or wheel bearing? i still smell something burning like brakes or clutch but Its coming from the drivers side tire....so I changed my front rotors and pads...took me all day and i had to use a mini torch on all the bolts to get em loose!...caliper seemed to compress fine...but the smell is coming from the drivers side tire and the wheel is hot as hell after driving around. So what the crap is wrong? i dont know what to trouble shoot here!

it seemed like i could move the wheel around more than the other wheel and it alot pushing and pulling to get it off...it was also kinda hard to spin but the caliper doesnt seem like its engaged or anything

so im thinking somehow someway my caliper is not disengaging all the way. Bad caliper? bad brake line? anyone know how to trouble shoot this? id rather not take it in somewhere...

Bleed all the lines - start at the furthest wheel away from the master cylinder, then after all 4 wheels are done, bleed the master cylider. If that doesnt work, that caliper might be hanging up - you would need to rebuild or replace. Could also be the proportioning valve....man I hate brakes, LOL!

thanks thats a start...how do you bleed the master cylinder? and where is the proportioning valve located?

The MC is on the firewall on the drivers side - it has the brake fluid reservoir on top of it.

if ur tire is hard to spin an ur cailper is new with new line it is ur master cylinder..after awhile it will get to hard an ur tire will start to slide on the pavement,,when mine did this the wheel would jerk at 35 to 55.etc mph an then break free, but would come back...i changed cailper an line, thinking th line collapsed, never help...im bout 100% forsure its ur master cylinder

how many miles do you have? High millage cars it will generally be the Master Cylinder like red GT said. not sure in your case but i know a lot of times with brake problems it eventually is your Maser Cylinder if you have tried everything else and nothing you have tried works then its definitely the Master Cylinder.

ok,u changed the cailper an line,an still nothing right? did u try bleeding it? if u did an its not working have ur master cylinder checked........i did all of that an i took it to the local fix it man an he looked over it,called me a said it was fixed...when we pulled the car in his shop we jacked it up an both tires would barley turn. when i went to pick it up the tires was free,i drove it for 1 hr an he check them again an they was free. all he did was put a master cylinder on it...and when i say the rims was hot..do not touch the rim

Check the bearings. Caliper bolts are Loctited from the factory. Jack the wheel offthe ground and check for play, and spin it with the caliper off. That'll tell you what the problem is.

48k is enough....ive seen parts go under 100 miles on vehicles before

Hell...I've seen 'em not even make it off the car transport!
