Ok well i'm getting some cams to compliment the stage 2 heads and .600 beehive springs i just bought.
I'd like the expertise from the cam guys on here...

I'm thinking with either going with these used VT stage 2's
Specs :
* .560/.575 lift
* 225/235 .050 dur
* 270/282 adv dur
* 108 LSA

Or Comp xe270ah's.

I plan on staying NA for the time being...

Which one would you choose for the best hp and tq gain?

both are really good cams. the vt's specs sound really agressive, so i would say the comp 270s would be better assuming your car is daily driven. also the stupid high lift of the vt's will cause some serious ptv problems if they arent meticulously degree but so will the 270s. my problem with the 270s is you have to flog the hell out of it to feel some power. did you ever look into some custom ground comp xe268h's?

id be more concerned about the hp/tq curve rather than peak hp/tq

the vts are a great cam. do not need to be degreed.

comps need too.

might see a little more peak hp with the comps but i doubt it would be more than 5-10 hp

i have the vts. dyno was done on a MD also

installed a set of CMS stage 2s straight up no PTV

From what my knowledge is so far, you dont need to degree hitech stage 2's, but you do need to degree vt stage 2's or comp 270's. They are a more agressive cam than the hitechs/
Correct but i would still do it just to be safe. They are a badass cam man i would get those over any of the other 2 you listed. Talk to Casey at HiTech and he will tell you all about them.

o, ik lol. A very respectable shop is doing them for me.

I dont want to risk messing something up lol. God knows i've done that **** before haha.

I could do it myself, but i'd rather pay and have the self insurance of knowing someone that's done this many times before is working on my car.

I have not degreed my comp 270's yet. I plan on it tho, no ptv car runs good

every car is different. some cars have problems some dont

from what ive heard...

vt and hitech stage 2 dont need to be degreed

comp 270's do. tech's at comp told me this when i looked into those cams.

560 lift cams dont need to be degreed?

Max lift has nothing to do with ptv, timing events make the difference. If you are not going to spend the time to degree a aftermarket cam why waste your time installing it. You may be running 13* difference overall from bank to bank with your factory cams, why take that chance with a aftermarket cam ? I degreed a set of stock cams and seem a 10 rwhp throughout the curve, some people just want to cut to many corners. Unless you have money to blow it is a safer bet to spent $100 extra and a few hours to know you have everything perfect......

And this is exactly why i'm having a speed shop do it
