Well got rid of the vibrations in my car for the most part. Most of it was exhuast related. Its amazing how the exhuast hitting on the bottom of the car can make it feel like the whole car is shaking.

Last night i took the car to WV and i noticed on the highway that my mirror was not vibrating like it use to do at 70 or 80. So i thought maybe my vibrations were due to a differenct reason then they use to be.

So i thought it was probably exhuast stuff. The exhuast was off a few times for the clutch install and a few other reasons over the last month or two. So my son and i screwed with for a few hours and it seems great.

I know i sound like a broken record but it is amazing how just twisting an exhaust pipe here or there can change so much like cabin noise, vibrations on the floor, rattling.

I had that exhuast perferct back in october. Now its seems right again for the first time.


Plus tightened my shocks and found my panhard bar loose, not the adjustment bolt but a mount. Car feels pretty darn good now, no vibrations rattles gone. Shoot i was eyeing a gt500 i was getting so tired of not enjoying driveing my car anymore. But today made up for it.

Gears still whineing like crazy, but thats another battle for another day. On tuesday ill say what can be done about that. Worse case scenario, a new axle with 3.73s in it. Ill just have to live with that weak **** i guess.

good to hear. didn't you say justin was sending his guy down to work on your gears.
Yea his guy is gonna look at it for me. But he also told me not to drive it at all if possible until then or beat on it.

Well that was about 150 miles ago and at least twice today i was sideways threw second. Hey, i had to see if that might just slam it in to place right.

Glad to hear you're getting your baby all sorted out Rich.

I hear you on the gear noise. I have whine on part throttle/decel, and just haven't had time to take it back to DaSilva to get it fixed.
Im wondering does it mean its on borrowed time? or could you just drive like that forever with them whineing.

Depends how bad it is, when it whines, and how long it's been doing it.

Certain whines mean different things, like whine when coasting means, if I can remember correctly, that pinion depth isn't set correctly. And whining all the time, means something else. I used to remember it all, but I'm old and forget.

So how long it will last depends on exactly what is wrong, and how bad something is worn/not adjusted properly, and how hard you drive the car. *giggle*

LOL, oh well she aint got long then.

But basically it whines any time decelerating or coasting with the clutch in, just constant whine And it will whine for a second when i accelerate, but usually just as soon as i it the gas it will make a noise then stop. It doesnt really do it when im at a steady speed i dont think. And sometime its louder then other times but its always very noticeable, its not just some faint noise.
 
Rich, did you hear the vibration all the time or during hvy loads i.e, driving 30 in 4th gear. Sometimes it seems my whole exhaust is vibrating, especially during hvy load. I know everything is tight. I used an impact gun to tighten the midpipe to manifold and the over the axle pipes.

graga. I think i have or had two main sources of vibrations. One is the engine itself, cammed it runs rough, sitting on the poly bushing on a tubular k member i get a 100% of feedback. that i can live with. the other vibration is from.........i really dont know, that vibration seems better if not gone, it was a pulsating wah wah wah at cruising speeds.


ever since i got 4.10s i notice my rearview mirror shakes at high speeds 80mph. shakes enough that i couldnt tell what kinda car was way back there, kinda like a sportbike mirror, my girlfreind use to always ask me, why do you sit up on the bike, turn around and look behind you before you punch it, are you looking at some hot girl and showing off.....lol, no its becuase the mirror shakes so much that i can see cars back there but i cant tell if its a cop or even what kinda car is 5 car length back.

Thats how bad my mirror would shake in the stang, its a lot smoother now. That is why i decided to check out the exhuast, the vibrations in the car are clearly better, but it didnt really feel or sound that way.

The exhuast issue were just exagerating it, not really the cause of it. I think that my cats were hitting the floor board, so i loosened then up at the headers and turn them down a little bit. The rest was the cat back, i turned them in the x pipe, basically bringing the over the axle bend away from the car right where the tunnel ends and bringing it a little further away from the panhard brace. Plus the rear heatsheild on the on the right side was loose. if you flick it it was noisey, those things make like a weird tin metal noise. so, the bolts really wouldnt tighten, so i just bent the tin down in a couple spots and it didnt rattle when i flick it anymore.

Sorry for the long post i just wanted you to know where im comeing from. Plus my left tip was deffintatley hittin on my cut out area. Fixed that. actually my right tip might still needs some work.

Just kidding I know what you mean though I swear my car makes all kinda noises like the tail pipes are loose or exhaust is hitting something check over everything and its all good wtf....

LOL, 4.10s are the only way to go in this car, Period. It aint debateable brother. And i dont care who says different. I wouldnt give up 4.10s if another ring and pinion were free, hell it was for me and i still didnt. If i were blown id have 4.10s, been in a procharged stang with 4.10s, liked it.


The issue is other things. its like a one peice driveshaft or motor mounts or the k member. These things are awesome mods. But the problem is if other things are off on your car, they exagerate it.

Just put about 200 miles on my car today again, i had to make two trips to WV this weekend. Other then the gear whine my car was perfect. Very nice smooth ride, no vibrations at any speed.

very little things made the difference, i clocked the driveshaft yesterday, messed with the exhuast like i said, tighten both back shocks which were a little loose and the panhard bar was loose.

The car is spot on again, man knock on wood..... and it wont be touched again exept to fix the gears, no more tests.

No vibrations even at triple digits now.
