First I am new to this forum, but have read a lot of threads before I signed up and you guys seem to really know everything about these cars. I have searched a lot of the suspension threads, but haven't exactly found what I am looking for or probably missed it (which is probably the case).

A little background on my car. It is a 2008 Mustang GT with nothing done to it except axlebacks. It is also my daily driver. Here is what I am looking to try to do suspension wise:

1. Maintain stock ride height (clearance issues with my driveway)
2. Less squat on hard acceleration (I also have the 3.55's and plan on getting 4.10's)
3. Better cornering abilities

I have a few ideas on what I could do, but you guys probably will give me better advice. All recommendations are welcome (shocks, struts, stabilizers, etc.)

Welcome to the forums. Ill throw a couple of things out. You really didn't say a budget but.

Better cornering without lower springs............ you need wider tires with a lower sidewall. Like 18x9s front maybe 18x10s in the back.

You need shocks

Bilstein Front & Rear Strut/Shock Package

You need this. Yes they make a difference in cornering. and certainly in the squat.

BMR Fabrication Anti Wheelhop Package

You could get these, but they are not as important as the other parts. well actually let me correct that, without the springs they probably are important.
BMR Fabrication Front & Rear Swaybar Kit

Im mean K member and a arms, again i dont how far you want to go.

Tires, shocks, and the control arms are must for what you said.

You also could look at some springs that only lower the car 1 inch. Some good cornering would really be helped by getting this car close to the ground. But you can do it without the springs.

well if your truly set against springs then do in order.

rims and tires. That right there is a lot of money. But without springs, you have to get tires.

shocks/struts. you could even do some adjustable d specs, bilsteins are just my favorite.

Control arms and brackets. The brackets are good in the turns. It makes a big difference in the car when i adjust the lower arms.

then look at swaybars,

strut tower brace.

A arms do a lot for the steering wheel. A arm brace gets rid of a lot of deflection up front.

Tubular K member really tightens the car up.

Just keep going to you run out of money :)

I had a previous car that was lowered 1.4" front and back and had to go up my driveway at a certain angle, couldn't go through a car wash because the tracks would scrape would scrape going up ramps to change my oil and could barely get a hydraulic jack under it. Do any of you have these problems? My main reason for trying to avoid lowering my car is to avoid some of these problems. The car wash is not important because I would rather wash my car.

Look in my sig and see if you like what I put on suspension wise. Got all my pieces from 07stanggt

I was actually looking into some of the same parts. How much was your car lowered using those parts? Also do you have any problems putting a jack under it?

Nice cars by the way. Looking at everyone's picture of their car makes me want to lower mine.:yes

My car has the frpp springs 1.4 drop in the back 1.3 in the front. Yes most of the time i cant get a hydraulic jack under it, i have to lift it up a little.

Usually put my foot in the wheel well and push up to get the jack under. I know its not something you really want to do! :) Some days it will go under without lifting up the car it all depends on the pavement. Some times ill take the stock jack, and jack it up a little in order to get the other jack under there. worth it to me.

I dont drag on any driveways though or have any other clearance issues on speedbumps so forth.

.. isn't there a kit that only lowers the car 3/4" or 1" and than 1.25" in the rear? Lowering springs are definitely going to help a ton. I'd recommend Tokico D-Specs, Adj. Panhard Bar + Brace, Sway Bars, and LCAs at the least.

The best way, that I've found, to get a lowered car on the jacks is to just put down some pieces of 2x4 and drive on them. It works perfectly.

yes the steeda ultralites lower it 1 in the front and 1.25 in the back.

Some good advice you guys give...good enough to change my mind. After seeing all of these pictures of lowered mustang I can only become jealous enough that I have to join the club.

if you really need a jack you there are always the special jacks that are made very low, but they are a bit pricey. here ya go ;) hahahaha

also have you ever thought about building some ramps for your drive so you don't have to worry about getting up into it. my brothers driveway is the same way. i left my car there for the 1st 6 months i was over here and he just built some ramps so my exhaust wouldn't scrape when he pulled in and out of the drive. never had an issue after that. i have the eibach pro kit (lowers 1.5")

I have a roller jack that has an under the car height of 3"... it was only 150ish...Driving it up on two by fours works pretty well. If you do lower it the trade off for ride against the few times you bump it on something is IMO well worth it!!

it's about 2 3/4" to the tip of my spoiler... I don't even try my driveway unless I am working on it.
