Ok so here's the deal, I'm going home from school and my car feels sort of weird. (i have a tuner and intake just for the record)

I go to slow down from about 55 and my car dies! It slowed to about 45 and died as if I stalled it. I turn it back on and keep driving. It did it again on the next light. And every time I come to a complete stop it feels like it's going to die. And when I accelerate it feels like it takes more gas. I drive a stick. I feel like I lost a bunch of power and I definitely did in the higher gears cause it's sluggish. And it feels weird to drive. I can't spot it on exactly what it is but the drivability is definitely not the same.

Car's got 33k on it and I treat it like my baby for the most part.

So here's the problems:

Dies when decelerating when going about 50ish
Feels like it's going to die at stops
Takes more gas to start up

If anyone could help I would be greatly pleased. This is making me so mad.

hmm sounds like there is something wrong with your tune. when i took mine back to stock it would start then slowly drop rpms til it turns off. might wanna take ur car back to stock and re-install your tune and see what happens

Ok I turned it back to stock and it did what you said, slowly dropped rpms til it died. I started it, it sounded like ****, then died. Then I reinstalled my canned tune and it's the same as it was before. Same problems. It feels all wrong when I drive it. The steering even feels different I think. Did I **** something up? I hope to God I didn't. I mean, I didn't do anything wrong.

Ok I called the tech support and we went through it all. Told him everything. He told me it's something wrong with my car since it's messing up when in the stock tune. I don't see how it can run when it's in a custom tune but not run when it's in the stock tune.....

And I tried running it longer during the stock tune to see what happened. It started to drop rpms so I gave it a little gas. I let it sit and it started raising rpms (about 500) then it dropped again. When I have it in neutral I can hear a sort of clicking noise coming from the tranny. When I have the clutch in it stops. This is stressin me out hardcore.

Your best bet i think would take it to a mechanic and have it checked out. If it runs fine in neutral then it could be the tranny. Also maybe your fuel injectors are acting up? Is the engine knocking or anything or does it sound like some of the cylinders aren't firing?

I'm no mechanic and my knowledge of cars is limited so i'm just making suggestions

you have a CAI. the computers on our cars are very sensitive and require a tune for everything. That is why when you took you car back to stock and turned it on it didnt stay on. If you take your car back to stock and take the CAI off. it will stil stay on. There is too much air going into the intake manifold resulting in a trip in the computer. The reason why it slowly goes down is the computer is telling the engine to turn off slowly. Your best bet is to either take it to a dealership and see what they say, or find yourself a good mechanic elsewhere and see what they say.

HOWEVER!! the only true way to see if its the custom tune is...take the car back to bone stock and then bring the tune to stock. and if the car starts and acts fine you know. but if the problem persists, than you also know that there is something else wrong

go to bamachips/brenspeed/vmptuning spend 50$ get a tune. and tell the ****er its his tune not the stock tune
its not his tune.

Are you using 93 octane fuel? Its def not the stock tune.

I'm using 87 economy tune. Just drove it some more (sort of have no choice it's my only transportation lol) and I noticed it's between 500-750ish rpms in neutral. I'm pretty sure it idled at 1000 before. If I have time tonight I'll throw the old intake on and see if that works.

I'm just afraid that the boneheads around here won't know anything about the tuner. I'm getting it looked at on tuesday but I don't know if the guys there will be able to solve the problem.

Fuel filter maybe? And when I take it to the shop should I change it back to the stock tune and install my stock filter?

bullshit...u have a jlt cai right? go outside and take your car back to stock then turn it on, then after all that come back inside and tell us what happened.
read again.. you dont need a TUNE FROM ANWHERE to tune your CAI . you can tune it yourself

800 is idle

i had this same problem. My car hit 45k and this came up.I called it in to C&L and he told me to take off the throttlebody and clean it out.The comps in these are that sensitive.Mine wasnt even that dirty. But cleaned it up and no more dying. All i did was take it off and sprayed the inside with carb cleaner then prayed down a shop towl and wiped it clean front and back.just dont overtorque it seeing as it a plastic intake.
