Those heads will outflow anything on the market. And only for a little more of a price. 2k for heads is a very good deal since its aftermarket. Most P&p jobs cost that or more. With a solid cam setup lt's and other stuff you would be above 320 no doubt. But probably not right away. (bolt ons over time) Just do major stuff all at once and get it tuned.

It possible to get over the 320 RWHP mark. They had no aftermarket exhaust on it for one and they could have went with a wilder cam like the 278 from Comp. That should make quite a difference right there.

Not to mention that these heads have plenty of meat on them so they can be P&P more.

I have no personal experience on the driveability, but I know my buddy had a DD kenne Belled GT with built motor and the 270 cams. I've been in it twice and it was very driveable. I can't imagine the 278's would be too much different.

Yeah it would just need a higher idle i think so its not so rough. And will be a little choppy at low rpms (and obviously no power).

How far up can i move my torque and power curves before its stressing the internals/ and becoming unusable, i mean im going for quickness not power. And also need to be able to drive for like 16 hours straight once a year....

Man you guys have really changed my opinion on alot of things, thanks for all the advice...
Im thinking your right, get the big ticket items and install them then work the minor bolt ons over time for cheap.... I just might actually have the patience to do that. Im surprised you said the regular fuel stuff would hold honestly, but i'll take your word for it. Since im not going F/I i guess it doesnt make sense to throw all that support stuff in there, i just thought i would be losing gain if i didnt get the 'aside' items

Revving that high won't be too bad. Some companys make a stage "2.5". I would go with that. Or a custom ground cam that is slightly more aggressive than a stage 2. That will give you streetable performance but still a high rever and power house.

With a cam, and TF heads and headers you could rev her to 7k. Im heading out of town, will check back later!

For the cams its up to you and your goals. Im sure 90% of the people are going to be jumping all over the hitech stage 2's since everyone is balls deep into them right now, but just do some research and go with whats gonna work best for you or a custom grind. Gears wouldnt be a bad thing to look into as well. For install I dont have a clue, i did mine myself but some guys have gotten some varying quotes. Baker on here got a quote of 1k for tune, cams, and install. other people have been quoted 1100 just for the install.
The Hi-tech's are designed for stock heads, they will not work well with what he trying to do anyways.

I dont recall saying they would. Nor did I say to go with them. I simply said that most people on here are going to say to get them considering how balls deep everyone is in the stupid things.
Right. But whoever would suggest them for his build clearly wouldn't know their backside from a hole in the ground.

... this is going to sound like a very very dumb question.

If i did get headers instead of an xpipe... what kind of exhaust bolts up to that? I know i read some exhausts say they bolt onto stock or shorty headers, so is there a different type of midpipe you have to get with LT's?

^Yes you need a shorter mid pipe to bolt up to LT's.
