What exactly is a PF sensor? Ive had a check engine code on for quite some time and I took it and got it checked and the estimate says that I need to replace the pf sensor & solenoid. However, for some reason I remember something about a dpfe sensor? HMMMM..... Im not too sure what to make of this. What do you guys think, are they the same thing? Thanks guys

Well u cant clean the can because its a material tht deteriorates over time but the purge canister is next to the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The valve/ solenoid is in front of that. ull prolly have to replace em cause its a common f-up on are cars from wat i can c, the can is like $40 and the valve itself is $30 i think, not sure on the last price.

u should prolly check the sensor 1st jus to be safe tho and so u dnt waste money if it is the sensor and nothing else, unless u jus want to replace it all and be done with it. just call auto zone or watever shop u buy parts from and price a the EVAP Purge Valve and the canister tht goes with it. It shouldnt have any werid names or anything like tht and i hope i helpd yea with ur problem

So replace the PF sensor? or the dpfe? OR are they the same thing??? Wouldn't you have to order the sensor from Ford? Anyone know where the sensors are? Thanks

DPFE has nothing to do with ur current problem, DPFE is ur EGR valve sensor, DPFE and PF are completely 2 different things, and the sensor is attached to the solenoid in front of the can, would u like me 2 make u a vid and show u where its at?

Yea man! Do you think that I can pick those up at the local auto parts store. And would they be called the PF Sensor and Solenoid? Thanks man

you can replace it all if you have to, just give him a description of what the stuff looks like and he should know and if he dose not know then freakin show him lol. Just keep in mind that it might just be the sensor its self which is the solenoid. Try unplugging it and cleaning around it with a dry rag and a can of air and let me know how it goes.

its the solenoid right near the firewall it has a vac line on each side and looks like a canister on the bottom might have to go to ford thats where i got mine it needs replaced i had the same problem and it fixed er right up i paid 86 bux for the damn thing though

just to throw this in there, sense i know what the big black can is for now does any one know what the small black box is for attached to the IAC hose?
