go to your autostore ask them for a 180 stat for a v6 mustang year (w/e you havE)

your thermostat opens STOCK at 195degrees...once your coolant has reached the temp, it opens to cycle and cool through the radiator.
while new cooler fluid runs through the motor keeping it cool.

the 180 stat opens at 180 degrees instead keeping the motor "cooler"

The 180 is on average the better one to get. if you get a 160 it will take awhile to warm up the car and it COULD wear out your seals. Your car runs prolly an average of about 20-30 degrees warmer then that anyway. basically go with the 180.

Ford designed these motors to run on 195, so i would say Ford would know better than you. Dont spend money just to spend money. If you are going to do that, buy something worth wild.
