Hey guys, I just turned 18, and I am still looking around for a Cobra.

(man, people are gonna get sick of me here...)

Anyways, what would be the normal price of monthy/yearly insurance of a 99/01 cobra for an 18 year old? (with no crashes, or points on license?

Or on a 2005 Mustang GT??

Anyone who is lucky enough to have either of these cars, and is somewhat close to my age, or has great life experience with insurance on a mustang, please feel free to share!!

Thank you all!

Its totally dependent on many changing factors like location company etc, but here its almost ALL about year.

My 97 cobra is $100/month CHEAPER than a newer Focus. When my 98GT got totaled (not at fault, someone ran a red and nailed me) I tried to get something more economical but couldn't find anything older that wasn't in pieces or built like ****.

I confronted my agent when I heard about the new car being so expensive and literally said "Ok well I'm going to go out and get the big well built V8, ride it hard, give it more power, and drive dangerously like other people my age". Not like anything verbal can change a contract or "risk". I had just signed before speaking :).

2005GT will be more than any Cobra but 03/04 might be close if they weight power or new car cost.

**** em. If they wont make it easy to get a reliable economy car, get a reliable older race car ;) Their fault for not having a "risk measurement" for that topic. I tried to get something safer and they wouldnt let me, so let them deal with it. (so far compared to what I've paid, vs claimed. They are down a few grand :))

Mine is about $1200 a year (I'm on my parents insurance) and I'm 19.

Mine is 1200/year and I'm 21 on my own policy with 4 points currently.

Holy Balls. I pay $2400 a year for my Mach, and I'm 30. The insurance company I went through when I first bought it told me a brand new Vette Z06 would have been $100 a month cheaper than the Mach.

I currently pay $200 a month, and that's about $100 a month cheaper than it was a few years ago : D

my '97 cobra is on my parents' policy. we have the best insurance agent ever, and he shuffled things around a little bit, so my cobra is only $120 every 6 months

my '97 cobra is on my parents' policy. we have the most shady insurance agent ever, and he did some illegal ****, so my cobra is only $120 every 6 months. And when I need to claim I will be screwed and possibly get sued.

Not that I really know, but thats EXACTLY how my mind read it the first time. Trying to be funny more than anything, so please no "ITS LEGIT" follow up posts. We know.

Looks like a liability-only policy for a car thats marked as in storage to me. Numbers perfectly match up. Do they by chance tell you not to get it serviced? Mileage reporting is the only way they will catch you on that.

I dont pretend to really know your deal, but dude it just doesnt sound right to me. If it is, props.
