Hey Everyone! I just got my Roush s/c put into my 2006 vert mustang. I'vbeen driving the car for almost a week now and I don't know if it's buyers remorse or what but I was expecting alittle more power. Is their anyone out there with the same feeling about their s/c? Do I just change the pulley's to get more power? I'm just not wow'd.

not much you can do with the Roush blower now. Roush is coming out with a H.O. upgrade kit to put the power up to 450HP sometime within the next month. You would need bigger injectors, new s/c pulley, revised ECU tune.

i'd wait for the upgrade kit to come out, then you will be more than happy with 450HP. I'm pushing 475 with my whipple and I get wow all over my face everytime i punch it.

You probably already do it but be sure to turn off traction control right after you start the car.It is a different animal with the traction control off.

I have never turned my traction controll off. I'm not supercharged, would it still feel like more power if i turned it off?

Traction control only limits power if there is wheel spin. It doesn't miraculously add more power to any vehicle.

Some people are forgetting to turn it off after power adder installs and when it engages they feel the car isn't that impressive.

I forgot one time to turn off my traction control after my Procharger install, and the major back fires I received when traction control went active is enough that I wouldn't forget ever again.

I recently had the traction control disabled in my tune, so I no longer have to remember to disable.

Turning the traction control off allows your wheels to spin freely thus making the sound of burning rubber, it also allows yor car to fishtail, all that squealing, sliding, and noise from your exhaust makes you feel like you have more power even though you don't. It's all relative kinda like going 600mph in an airplane and when the airplane slows to less than 200 to land you feel like you are speeding up because the ground is right next to you . I'm not sure which is faster with t/c or without t/c but it sure seems faster with it off.

I would agree on the t/c. It seems to make a difference but 280hp stock to the wheels is 280hp to the wheels. :)

About the Roush s/c, I have heard it didn't have the feeling of say a ProCharger or KB but then again Roush designed it for driveablity and max 8psi boost. It is just not the powerhouse of the other aftermarket s/c's out there. Then again, the other guys don't offer to pickup the factory warranty like Roush either.

Just know you have 115 more horses (about 390 - 400 at the wheels depending other addons) and if something fails it is covered under warranty. :)

The Roush s/c only puts out 5psi. If I could get more psi out of it that would be great. But I'm not sure if I were to do that it would void the warranty. Does uping the psi by 1 or 2 make a big difference?

Hi Wally...I dug out my paperwork and you are right 5lbs of boost. The salesman lied to me. That is a good thing though, when we add more boost it will be even better. If you find any info on what pulleys are available let me know. Norm

Maverick....was that warrenty something special by the dealer or because it is the Ford Racing setup or a combination? That is setup I have been looking at since the HO came out but nobody said anything about a warranty. I like the Whipple, it sounds great and has good HP ratings if a warranty is something I can negotiate then I am all in.

GTNorm. I had asked my local ford dealer to find out this H.O. upgrade kit for the Roush s/c I'm hearing so much about. They have not responded to me yet. I will ask them this week on what it would take to install a smaller pulley system to get out more hp. I'll keep you up to date.

wow.. .that's all you get from the Roush??? that sucks....

Vortech HO w/ custom tune and I got 435 RWHP.... and that's a consrvative tune....
