UPDATE. came home today and yanked the passenger side head off (cylinder 1 was the cylinder giving me issues)...........its not that bad. Burned a hole in the exhaust valve. Piston looks fine. Still deciding on what to do. It should be running as soon as I can scrape up enough money to get a few parts.
Sounds like pretty good news. I think you will get a valve job on the head and get back to normal. Hopefully. I am still praying.

Yeah all this head would need is a new valve installed. I doubt anything else is messed up. Might have a new guide put in it on that valve, hell I dunno. I'm still going to wait and make a decision.

its not that bad at all, of course I work on vehicles for a living so it comes second nature for me, and I have all the tools I need laying around my house. I pulled the intake sunday, took me less than an hour. Worked on it for about 2 hours monday night, and about one hour last night. All in all I had maybe 4 or 5 hours in it to get the head off.

Yea I like working on cars myself. I figured it would be about that amount of work. I think going back on is always a little slower, just because you want do do everything just right. You did get a new gasket?

Well Hell I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to gather up all my tools. And not a single air tool has TOUCHED the car, all hand wrenching. (no compressor anymore)..........yes bkid I will be going back with all new gaskets lol, I dont think the old head gasket will seal up to good, no matter how much JB weld I put on it. haha...........

I jerked my whole engine in 5 hours...and thats with taking pics and lableing all the fasteners. :)

I know I rule.
Thats pretty good timing.............If I were to do this at work, it would take all of a couple hours TOPS. I would have a new set of heads on it running in less than a day. Hell maybe half a day. I know I have put a complete engine in one in less than a day start to finish.

If anyone wants a pic I can send one VIA cell phone, I'm at work right now so I cant post pics on here. And It would be pointless if I did since its a small cell phone pic. PM me your cell number and i'll send one out to ya

Qwik, I was very suprised it did not do more damage than what was done. I mean hell, it burned every ****ing plug in half, all but 2 of them. The piston didn't even have any discoloration from getting so F'in hot..........I'm happy with the outcome. Well, let me rephrase that, i'm not happy AT ALL, but im glad its not too terribly bad. Now i'm on the fence of what to do with the car.

not sure yet Lee, gotta see how everything works out for me financially wise. I dont want to put the car back to stock, because I will sell it if I do. I wont be happy with anything less than upgrading the car right now, I mean, Hell why not, its already tore apart. Just dont really have a **** ton of money to spend right now.
