whats the best wax and or clear coat to get that "showroom sine"? i usually just use the turtle wax from the local autozone, but its just not getting the shine i want... any suggestions/comments/ w/e? when we get enough replies ill set up a pole
Glazes don't offer protection. What are you talking about?
Yeah I have seen it, and its awesome. I am going to get one soon, the Makita is getting to be a bit much for me, and I only use it for heavier jobs, and the PC is too slow.Good, the PC7424 will be perfect for you. It's a shame that Meguiars had to discontinue the G100 to replace it with the G110.
Weems, have you seen the Flex? I'm sure you have ... I really want to get one of those to replace the G100 ...
I am bringing my equipment when I come down, and I will make you oooOoOOoooOOOo and AaaAhAAa at your car.The thing that really sucks....is that being white...I don't get the "oOoOooOh AaaaAAaAAAaH!" that darker colors can get. Mine just looks clean. White has no depth.![]()
Looks great. These are old pictures but after a detail ... I like Black the best ...

To an extent thats right, but I have tried a LOT of **** and let me tell you, nothing you can buy at advance compares to Poorboys, Pinnacle, Menzerna, ect. If you want to look the best, you have to spend a little more. There is so much trial and error needed to find the right one. Here's why IMO...
For example...What works good for ZIP in Canada on his new Mustang and what works good for me in Florida on my Edge could be completely different. Wax, polish, glazes even soaps will perform differently in different environments. Back in Toledo, Simonize worked awesome on my cars but for some reason, it doesnt work as good here.
Take waxes for example. Read the bottles. they all have similar but different temperature ranges for when to apply. Well, if those ranges are true and wax is NOT a permanent thing on the car, then logic says the environment has a big impact on how a product works.
One product may work great in Dry cool Canadien air with less direct sunlight than down here where the sun is direct and the humidity is high as hell. Not to mention, the formula for paints and clearcoats are different from one model year to the next sometimes. I need a WAX here that can resist salty air and sand. Someone else may need a wax that is better suited for rainy weather. Who knows.
Age of the vehicle also matters. How "worn" is the clearcoat? There are so many variables. Even how one person applys it compared to another. I would bet if you took the same exact car in the the same city and had seperate people wash and wax each one you'd not only get different results (how long did they wait to buff it, how hard did they apply pressure) and you'd get different opinions on how hard it was to appy.
So here's my suggestion. Start with the absolute cheapest and easiest looking products and try them. To me, there is no sense in paying $15 for an expensive brand if the $5 one works better for you and gives you "happy" results. If the cheapies dont work, than move your way up the ladder. Just dont be fooled into thinking just because it costs a bundle, it will be the best product for you.
I know man. I've been eye balling it for a long time. As of right now, the G100 is getting the job done and quite well on my car. I just have a problem on anything other than Ford, GM, and Dodge. Well, I take that back, it's not really a problem. Once you start getting into other foreign makes it shows it's weakness. I think the Flex would be able to handle that stuff, possibly even BMW clearcoats. I'm not sure. I've been using a Makita for a while on all of that stuff.Yeah I have seen it, and its awesome. I am going to get one soon, the Makita is getting to be a bit much for me, and I only use it for heavier jobs, and the PC is too slow.
:lol at the tag team, now im in!
Thanks !!Looks great.
yea........ :loldid you find the skit where he's talkin to his gma and asks her if she's seen it?
maybe he's as strong as lou ferrignoAre you trying to buff out swirls by hand? I think you need to go read a detailing guide on here ... The link is even posted within this thread.
no I have an electric random orbital... it's a cheap 1 speed but it's all I got as of now... I actually ended up buying this anyway Meguiar's Direct Swirl Remover -, cause I wasn't impressed with the 3M when I used it last year...Are you trying to buff out swirls by hand?
