They lied to you! N/A 4 cyl under the hood! Might want to double check that.

I know, not much help, but good luck! I hope you can figure it out.

I got a 92 LX 5.0 Auto hatchback. I got it 100% stock (even had the Ford oval on the stock mufflers).

they are very slow. I've only seen 1 auto hatch 5.0 LX that ran pretty quickly and that was an 87 and the guy didn't know why.

try putting a 3.73 gear in it. that should really perk up the go factor.

more than likely if it cam from an older lady it has alot of carbon build up inside the engine. seafoam it a couple times and go WOT a few times after the seafoam and it should blow alot of that **** right out the pipe.

my buddy got a 73 chevelle from an older lady and it took a couple weeks to get all the carbon build up out of the engine. wot felt like poop.

Whats all this about stock 5.0's being slugs..? Not sure about the autos.. ive never driven one. (mine is a manual...with stock gears) But when I put it in 1st and let the clutch out... then stomp it to the floor, it will spin from lane to lane until I let off the gas. Never know what's gonna happen.. its squirrely as hell. You have to granny drive it in wet weather...because if you get on it in 3rd gear you will almost end up in the ditch. (don't ask) I cant imagine what low gears would be like.

I dont think the engine is even modded.. stock heads, stock intake etc. but it does have a few small things that I know of. mac 1-5/8" equal length shorty headers, No cats, flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, smog pump delete. Nothing to really make a difference.

I agree.. put that pig on a diet, advance your timing and run premium.. then save for a shift kit and torque converter too wake her up some

with such low compression, would it be benificial to run premium at all? i heard it make no difference bc of the low compression of the 302, id appreciate the correction, thanks

I would get rid of the cats....depending how many miles its possible they are clogged. like others said a set of gears, contact dan his screen name is silverfox at Click Click Racing about getting a built valve body (faster and harder shifts) and depending on if you are going to mod it a stall converter. Also if you are going to mod it he can tell you the tricks and sell you the better parts to build the trans to hold some serious HP like 700-1000 HP, but first get that exhaust breathing better and if it was an old lady it probably still has the air box in it....get rid of that and maybe bump the timing
