Ok i have just recently bought a 99 Mustang GT 5spd anyway it ran great for the first week or so and one night on my way home i thought i felt it hesitating in third gear aroung 3500rpm and so turns out it was. As time when on it has grown worst and it hesitates like lack of fuel or ignition i really cant decide which it would be, and it only does it when the engine is up to temp and has been running, if you let it heat up just a bit to where its still cool and romp on it pulls like a mother, but drive it a bit and romp on it and then it spits and sputters and just doesnt pull it takes forever to get through your power ban. So that being said I have no check engine light on, I have replaced plugs, fuel filter, and the boots and springs goin from the coil to the plug. ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bow

Ok, last night it took a turn for the worst, I was pulling out of a intersection and punched it and it stalled out like would not accelerate or anything. That scared me a bit and i just drove it normally and then as i pulled into my neighborhood i got on it again and it tried to go but just started hesitating violently forward and backward and I HAVE NO FLIPPING CLUE WHAT TO DO!!!! :dunno :dunno

Wait for the check engine light to come on. Or go pay the hourly rate at a dealership to check for pending codes that havent set a light yet. Autozone cant do that. Only youre dealership or a bigger garage. But it might be worth it. I would say youre getting a coilpack misfire, or having problems with youre O2 sensors.

Why can't a tuner or Autozone do it?

autozone can only see codes that have thrown the check engine light... dealers can read and little misfire in the past weeks...

check the main vacuum line that goes from the intake tube to the plenum. If that is not seated proper it will leak and this will happen. Just check and see if its pushed in all the way on both ends. Thats my .02.

Why cant autozone do it.
The code readers Autozone has are to check, and clear. They also give a brief description of what it "COULD" possibly be. DO NOT take autozones advise because they are NOT trained technicians and they only read whats on the screen. If you have a DPFE thats bad it will throw a code that Autozone will see as "EGR system fault" So they tell you to replace the EGR, then you do it and the light comes back on and you just gave them "XXX" amount of dollars and they tell you to get it checked out at the dealership.

A dealership such as Ford has a IDS scan tool which is setup on a TOUGHBOOK laptop and it scans everysingle module in youre car for codes and also lists out all possible causes, TSB's, SSM's and you can also see live data, see pending codes and codes that might have happened before that someone cleared.

Yeah autozone is free, and its a good place to go and check youre code. But paying "80.00" an hour for the dealership to check youre code and give you a pretty good diagnosis of whats wrong isnt all thats bad in my opinion...especially if you come back here with the code and one of us technicians tells you whats really wrong and you fix it youreself much cheaper.
