That stretch of road in WV looks like this place we used to drive through. Is there a large cliff that over looks a huge valley on the right side of the picture?

Oh yeah... These pictures remind me of this song.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Hmmm....hard to remember.....a lot of hills and valleys on that stretch of road. So I'ma say yes! lol

And lol@ the song :lol

Great song. I've never been a huge country music fan, but of the little I like, Mr. Cash is tops on my list.

Hopefully they eventually give us a trip somewhere over there. I've been trying to convince dispatch to give us a trip to the southeast, and out to CA/AZ/WA area.

It is fun man. Although it's a tough job, even after almost 20 years, I still love it. Maybe this sounds sappy, but I still love the feeling when I'm driving along watching a gorgeous sunrise. Or when I'm way up in northern Saskatchewan in February. It might be -45 outside, but there's something cool about being the only one out on the highway, listening to the big diesel growl in the cold, and watching the northern lights twinkle.

It beats the hell out of working inside. At this point, I'm probably spoiled for a regular job. Dunno if I could do it at this point.

Crossing the twin span over the bottom end of Lake Ponchartrain outside of New Orleans, on I-10. This bridge was devastated by Katrina, and they are now building a new one. I'm driving on the old one; you can see the new one being built, which they are making higher.

This thread really makes me want to go on a road trip... I can't wait for summer :D

I'll be doing some driving this summer myself. Tx-Nc. I grew up in Wilmington and I'm going back home to see friends and family and whatnot. Great looking pictures Zippy! Oh the joys of the...blankness...of Alabama, haha. There is literally nothing once you hit those open highways.
