I forgot about the springs... But those won't work right without headers/mid-pipe?
I never said they won't work, because I don't know. I am just saying that if you don't open up that exhaust, you won't have any place for all that new air to go. Believe me, the 270 cams are letting plenty of air into the cylinders. The last Chevy motor I built had 296 degrees of duration, and I swear that this 4.6 is loping just as hard as that 355 was. I don't really understand what the difference is yet, but this blows my mind.......
It's because it's a smaller motor. Take a cam that makes a nice lope in a 400 SBC and take it out and put it in a 305 and it will sound a lot more aggressive.

234/238 @ .050 is a pretty agressive street cam period. I have a friend that has a nearly identical cam in a 383 in a 68 Vette and it hits a good lick. So it will sound much more agressive when you take 102 cubes away by putting it in a 281.
I can see your point. I must admit that this is the first motor under 350 cubes that I have put any real effort into.........

Talk about off topic- weren't we discussing paint or something?

Chrome is nice, but I think it'll be too bling on a black car. I've seen it in forum pic threads - it makes a pretty picture - but it's too much for me.

It looks a little too South Florida to me. Know what I mean?
Sure, OK, Whatever YOU say Timber.

BTW: it's a little past your bedtime isn't it?

I don't have anything against chrome per se, I just don't want chrome wheels on my black car. Same thing with black wheels, they work best with certain colors.

Is it past my bedtime? What time is it? Nobody's tapped my on the shoulder and taken me to bed yet so I guess I'm good.

:dunno

That's cool, but I love the chrome on black. Anyway, I wonder where Neckbone is tonight??

You know what, I put Timber's name in there and meant to put yours. :crazy I scrolled through your pics on photobucket. That's my bad! LOL
OOHHHHH........

Yeah my family lives out in the country. My parents have about 6 quarter horses. You should come out in the "sticks" sometimes. The pictures are from my actual home. The video was made at our rental house in Blythevill, AR (where I am located for work temporarily). We have lived in almost every part of the country and this is by far the worst place we have been yet.

LOL Yeah, I should come out sometime to the worst place you've ever been. :lmao You'll have to excuse me if I pass. LOL Are you in the military? :usa
You misunderstood (as usual). I was talking about the sticks being home (Tupelo, MS). I wouldn't invite anybody to this hell hole.
I build power plants.
Furthermore, I love trashing up Timber's thread............

Oh yeah I remember you explaining on another thread. My father and my grandfather used to build those turbines at GE here in Schenectady. Those things are huge. I remeber a story my father told me about this truck driver that started talking and wasn't paying attention to the time. By the time he realized the time, he jumped in the truck and never secured his load. That big ass turbine dumped off the side going up the entrance ramp to the highway. The company he worked for towed his truck all the way to Schenectady with all the contents of his work locker, made him sign the papers and fired him on the spot. He had a couple of drinks too, but that's all they did on the job over there. My friend Jim works there now.

You would be suprised at how some of those fine pieces of machinery end up. A couple of years ago, I got the honor of seeing every blade in one of the GE turbines shred to pieces because a roll of paper towels got left in the inlet duct- Insane.
