Its up to you. A lot of people prefer full synthetic as it protects better and lasts longer. I would just get a normal fram filter or whatever it is. But thats up to you too.

I use Royal Purple and I love it, I also use the Royal Purple oil filter but I have also used the K&N filter and have loved both. But others use Mobil 1, Amsoil and some use Castrol. But it is all up to you, and I can tell you much if you buy Royal Purple and K&N filter you will spend around 70 bucks.

I use mobile one for oil filters. Get like some 10w40 high mileage from castrol or something. Thats what I did in my 95 mustang.

I would not think color has anything to do with it, but I could be wrong. Heck... you know some blue oil would look badass.

However, if you find oil in the store that is already black... ya... we have a problem. Most Oils are gold colored out of the store.

Your best bet if you do not do any kind of major racing on your car is basic high mileage oil and a nice filter. I recommend the K&N filter over all the others from my experience. I had a Chevy Cavalier with 160,000 miles on it and I always used Castrol High Mileage with a K&N filter and never had any probs.

Its all about the viscosity of the oil, do a quick search on google about oil viscosity, will explain it very well

if it has 110,000 miles on it, the gaskets and seals are probably beginning to get a little tired.. if it has been running regular oil its whole life i wouldnt change it now. sometimes when u go ahead and throw full synthetic oil like royal purple into older engines like that you tend to find all the seals that were beginning to go bad. i was always told if i wanted to find an oil leak on an older engine that was the way to do it.. i'd stay away from the full synthetics due 2 the mileage of the engine

Youve gotten some good advice on here, I used to run the oil rack for the Louisianna state police headquarters and ive got at least 2000 cars under my belt and Ill tell you this..in an old engine go to 10W 40! Its thicker and wont leak out..I run 40W Royal Purple and I could tell the difference..felt like a freed up a few horses and I lasts long if you run a good filter..I use a K&N. If you dont want to spend the money just go with a synthetic like Moble 40W and a good basic filter like a Fram.

Wouldnt hurt, but at his mileage if there is damage, then the damage is done by now..and from what Ive seen..theres damage. I mean, it only takes ONE GIRL as a prior owner to screw an engine...thats how I got MY car! ;)

FRAM, PENNZOIL OR ANY OF THOSE OIL FILTERS SUCK!!!!!Mobil 1 oil is good, AMSOIL is fantastic oil, little pricey but well worth it. Use OE oil filters, their built for those engines. Ford Racing filters are very good as well. Synthetic oil has smaller molecules which could develop a leak. But if you change your oil on a REGULAR basis, then a high quality regular oil is good enough. My buddies 650+HP 89 Cobra Vert runs regular 10W30-10W40 oil.
