Hey black on black stang on the way. Wondering what percent tints i should get. I live in jersey and i dnt mind the leagal limit although i would not love to onstantly get pulled over for tints. If you could post some pics of ur tints and list the % i would really appreciate it! Thank you.

same on mine 5% on back and two rear quarter windows and 20% on the front windows.

it's almost black on the back window and dark enough on the sides. you can still see in, but that is the reason for having legal limits.

i Have 10 in back and pillar and 25 in front. Got them about 3 hours ago...ill take pictures tomorrow for you. Only reason i didnt get 5% in back is because of it being so hard to see at night...and where i live all these crazy drivers i held off.

as a police officer in NJ bro, keep your tints to the rear windows. its illegal to put them on the front. if you put like 5% on your front windows, you will be harrassed by police. but becareful with NJ State Troopers if you drive in area's or highways filled with them. They will SLASH your tint if they catch you, and YES, they can do that. unless you have a signed waver from your doctor saying that your skin is vulnerable to sunlight and you must have them on there. but I dont think you would want to put your doctors license on the line just so you can have tint on your car.

but there are two options you can do, keep your tints to the rear, (doesnt matter what percentage)

or two, (YOU DIDNT HEAR THIS FROM ME) if you put about 35-45% all around your windows except for your windshield, it still gives it that DARK tint (not as bad as 5%) but if a cop can see you through the window, he will probably not bother you.

get some mole skin as well for you stang, your going to need to put that on before the tints, if you dont, your tints will scratch very easily after a few opening of the windows

it will look darker, especially w/the dark interior. i have the same color car and 20% all the way and it's a little dark to see out the sides at night.
if your pulling out and if someone forgot to turn there headlights on its going to be difficult to see them. i wanted to do the same % all the way and i thought 35% was to light, so i went w/20% :hug

tints

Depending on the makeup of the tint (metallic elements) can depend on what color/darkness the tint will appear to be. A more metallic makeup will form more of a grayish look compared to one of a lesser metallic makeup. The more metallic makeups do tend to carry lifetime warranties on the tint though, provided your installer also carries a warranty on his work. I used to work at a tint shop, and though unsure of the laws in Jersey, In Texas ours is around 30-35% range. I likes the look of 15%-20% on side windows of black cars, as it tends to look lighter than on a white car (both with dark interiors due to the contrast), and 15% on quarters and rear (makes it easier to see out than 5%, and its always harder to see in than out. I plan on putting 20 or 30% on my 05 Yellow GT. But you have to factor in that the factory has a 5% or as in the terms today a 95-97% tint. So if you tint a car 20% (trying to meet your state minimum of 20%, you would be OVERTINTED by 3-5%, and some cops are anal about this) Its best to tint your car 3-5% lighter than the state requirement-just to let you know....You can get moleskin online at www.automoleskin.com -it is 29.95 + 4.95 shipping, you might find it cheaper elsewhere though...Hope this helps you out....
