So this saturday makes two weeks of owning my 2002 Mustang GT and I'm looking to lightly mod the engine with some bolt-on parts.

obviously I'm going with a cold air, and some new pulleys.

I've done a lot of research on the sound I can get with aftermarket exhaust but the thing is I'm not sure what will sound best since most of the videos I've heard are of cars that arent really stock as far as the engine goes.

Anybody want to give opinions on the best sound I can get?

I have decided I dont like mac, slp, or pypes.

anybody know what sounds best on a stock GT? Bassani, borla, Flows, magnaflow?? help me out here. I'd also like it to be legal enough to get my inspection sticker. lol

get a mac catback, don't bother with a CAI, get a K&N filter, gears and a short throw

check out youtube for some videos, i know most cars are modded on you tube but its still gives you an idea. you will get alot of different response as exhaust is the most personalized thing on your car. everything sounds better and different to everyone. myself personally i had flowmasters with a bbk off road x pipe and it sounded really nice. if your worried about inspections get a catted mid pipe either h or x. x pipe will be more raspy and an h pipe will be a lower tone. im currently running mac longtubes with a bbk off road h pipe and flowmaster american thunder and i love it.the sound is nice a deep, couldnt be happier.

Best bang for your buck is a Off Road X-pipe. I have BBK and I love it. Then Id get a Gears,Pullies, CAI and a SCT tuner and have it dyno tuned. This is enough to put you 13.50's if not quicker.

It looks like you don't like it to be loud since you don't like mac, slp etc bassani and borla sound very similar magna is expensive but the only one that I like from your list are the flowmasters 40's in my opinion... with an x pipe imo.

the exhaust question will really get you no where here. everyone will tell you what they like. Like I love my magnaflow magnapacs. lol. but youtube is def your friend on this one. But ifyou choose magnapacs I know where you can get a great deal on a catback.

It really is personal opinion. I had Flowmaster 40s which a lot of people like. But I drive a lot of highway miles and after two years I just couldn't take the Flowmaster drone anymore. It just killed my ears. I'm running Magnaflows (not Magnapacks) and I just love them. A deep muscle car rumble that doesn't kill my ears on the interstate.

ya exhuast wise everyone will say what they have is best. as they should b/c thats would they like! pulleys, intake, full exhaust (imo o/r midpipe and catback), 4:10s, tuner and your good
