no roll bar or cage. i dont think the car will be fast enough to need one. are you thinking other wise?

thats what the chassis guy was saying. he thinks the car will run every bit of mid 11's with the right converter

Mine has everything yours has, except the tubular a arms, and rear suspension work, and Iron heads, and I am at 2720 without me in it and 2900 with me in it.... foxes are alwyas a little lighter anyway, so im guessing 2650...

If it weighs that much than he must weigh 500lbs.....

If that car doesn't weigh less than 2700 with him in it, then something is definitely wrong. 8.2 deck engine, no roll bar, lightweight parts and gutted.....Hell, the car might go under 2600 with him in it.

will you explain that to some of the people on mustang forums. there is a guy on there saying the car will weigh around 3100 with me in the car. i asked him to put money on it
what will it weigh?? - MustangForums.com
I don't go on that gay site. There is enough stupid to argue with on this site, I don't know what I'd do on a site that is full of stupid...

LMAO!! thus you see my problem. im shooting for 2700lbs with me in the car but now i got motivation. i made it known that i would make a bet with the guy saying that the car wont weigh no damn 3100lbs. if by chance it does i will make a video of me running across my yard and drop kicking the car.

That guy is an idiot. Just for comparision, the first year I ran my black notch I had it weighing 2750 or so (I'd have to dig out the log book to be sure). This was with me in the car (195lbs at the time) and a heavy rear end (35 spline axles, etc.) mild steel roll cage, and a 9.5 deck engine. This was also before I added any weight to the car. You have no roll cage and an 8.2 deck engine. You will have no problem being under 2700 pounds.

i figure with just the k-member and brakes i will be losing 100lbs off the front end not including the chromoly support, manual rack aluminum radiator etc etc. car wont have ac, power steering, smog, heat, bumper supports, insulation/sound deadening, drag seats, door bars, no back seat, no back seat brace, no sway bars, no console, no power windows or locks and glass parts. thats why im confident about the weight and this guy needs to stop talking out of his noise hole and stop pole smoking.

also for comparison sake here is how he came up with his conclusion.

it'll be heavier than all those options

my notch weighs 3200 w/ me in it and i'm only 150

no smog, fibreglass hood, convo pro's, full interior 5speed AC car

so i said 3000 but probably 3150 or so

thats what he has and assumed what my car would weigh
now compare that to my list.

I'd guess close to 3100 when you started out. You have removed maybe 300 to 400 lbs. So that would put the car at 2750 ish. So I would say close to 2900 with you in it.

Yep, he shouldn't even be talking because he clearly has no experience with what he is talking about. Without buying any lightweight parts you can save 250 pounds by removing bumper supports, door crash bars, heater assembly, sound dedner, tar paper, wiper motor, power steering, air conditioning and smog equipment. You will easily lose another 250+ in the parts you are replacing.
