Well I decided to take the plunge and black out my exhaust. I have the painting done, but am not going to mount it until later in the week because it has to come off tuesday to put the gears in anyway. So here are some pics.

I think they'll look awesome on your ride M.P.
Thanks. I hope so.

Can't wait to see it on the car!

What was the process and how much did it cost paint wise?
I removed the pipes fromthe car. Washed them with degreaser and a stiff scrub brush. Then scrubbed them with mineral spirits soaked scothbrite until completely clean. Dried them off and gave them a final wipe in alcohol. Using VHT Flame Proof primer (good to 2000degrees) I primed them with two light coats and then 1 wet coat, waiting aprox 5 minutes between light coats. Then waiting ten minutes I used VHT Flameprrof black. Same process 5 minutes between two light coats (the painted pics are after the first light coat, the tip pic is after all coats) then a final medium wet coat. After drying I will have to cure them by bolting them up idling the car for 10 minuts and letting cool, idling for20 minutes and letting cool, then normal driving for 30 minutes and cool. In all I have around $40 in pant. Two cans primer, two paint.

:lmao same here at my house
we are sad aren't we!

Why would you want to "Black out" the exhaust?

After all it is Under the car.
On an IRS car if you look at the back of the car, all you see is the exhaust. It stands out a LOT. Some people polish theirs. I do not like polished or chrome on MG cars. So I decided to black it out instead. It is only the tailpipes that are seen from behid the car.
Here is a pic of an IRS car with the polished exhaust. You can se it is very visible.

Yes, his vehicle is very very very sexy. One of the colors I like chrome and polished on.
