I have to ask why? Just so we are all on the same page. Did you switch to a v-belt set up?

im deleting the a/c, powersteering and i want to run the belt over the water pump which makes it spin the opposite way that it does now. or is there a kit that i can buy that puts an idler pulley wher the ac went.

Run the belt over the tensioner pulley instead of under it. Then you can run the water pump in the right direction. I've done it this way many times. I believe the belt size is either 443K6 or 413K6.

i have it that way now and the belt squeals. i found a bracket that march makes that moves the tensioner where the ac goes that will solve my problem. thanks for the help.

What belt size are you using 90Stang? The right size belt is a bitch to get on but will not squeal. You have to loosen the alternator and push it forward (toward the tensioner) as far as it will go and then squeeze the belt on. Then use a pry bar to pull the alternator back and stuff the bolt back in the top.

Just a question because I never done it before... What's the point of removing the power steering? A/C I can understand maybe to free up some extra hidden hp.

Removing power steering can take a out chunk of weight on the front end. If it's not your daily driver (or you're just a burly ****er) then switch over.

It really doesn't free up any horsepower but it removes about 50 pounds of weight and sure looks alot nicer.

Over heating 85 5.0

OK I have an 85 5.0 that I just built with Afr heads, e303 cam, hyperthecnic pistons and so on. It is a carb set up. I had ordered the same water pump that was on the original 5.0 and watched as I satarted the car that it spins the blades on the pump the wrong way. The pump is pulling towards the passenger side and the fins are turning towards drivers side. and it was flowing out of my radiator bad. So I bought a pump for a 93 5.0 and thta spins towards the passenger side. But I am still over heating. way past the h. I also removed the ac and air pump with kits. the heat out of the vents is nice and hot and both heater hoses get nice and hot, but once it over heats in a matter of 5-10 mins you hear it bubble in the radiator. I did air lift the engine before I installed the coolant. Anybody out the have any ideas on what I can do next?? I could use any kind of info. I also have a 180 degree thermostat in it. Thanks
