How do you pass inspection? Any help would be great, seriously looking into a different exhaust for this car.
Thanks that helped alot...do i have to remove starter?1.Jack up the front of the car real high and put it on some jackstands.
2. Unhook the battery.
3. undo the electrical connections to your starter.
4. Use a 7/8 open end wrench and remove your upstream passenger side oxygen sensor.
5 Remove the 3 ( yes, there is a third one you just can't see it without a mirror.) bolts holding on your starter and pull it out. They should all be 13mm. **Tip: you can feel the top bolt with your fingers and rig up a series of extensions and a universal joint socket and feed that between the motor mount and the header to remove the top bolt.
6. Remove the 2 nuts holding on the passenger side of your midpipe.
7. remove the upstream driver's side oxygen sensor.
8. Remove the two bolts connecting your midpipe to your headers.
9. Unplug your 2 rear oxygen sensors.
10. remove the 4 nut and bolt combo's holding your midpipe to your catback.
11. your midpipe should just be held to the car now by a pair of exhaust hangers by the transmission. slide the hangers off the rubber pieces and your midpipe is now off the car.
12. swap your rear oxygen sensors over to your new midpipe and follow the installation instructions that came with your new midpipe. If you don't have instructions, just follow these steps in reverse.
** If your installing a 2 piece midpipe ( H pipe ), I found it's best to fit the center section together BEFORE you install either pipe onto the car. If your installing a 3 piece midpipe ( pypes X pipe ) then I found it best to install the two forward ( header connections) pieces first then install the x piece to them.
.
cough * cough* Bullshit * cough*cough*.i didnt remove it, if you do remove it will help you install it easier
interesting words. if california had a visual only i would soo be down to do that.what I meant about the shells was cutting around the seam and then just welding the sheemetal 'shells' you have on top of the existing exaust pipe
