well im not looking for loud anymore.... i have cams headers and an x pipe.... thats it.... no cats... no muffs. just options till i get that first ticket.... than i will put some on.... however... im sure mufflers it will still be loud.. who knows

I have them right now on my car with an o/r x. I like them. They are really loud tho.
You have a video anywhere of your setup? I really want to hear them with an o/r xpipe. I'm still trying to decide between the cherry bomb extremes and hooker aerochambers. I have always liked the sound of single chambered exhaust, but I loved the sound of my aerochambers on my fox body. That and I like saying I have hookers in the back.

Might be a little more suttle with the mufflers, but not much more. Those mufflers are still pretty loud.
That's defiantly true, I should have been more specific, I meant more or less any general muffler. Cherry Bombs are the exception. There is a reason there slogan is "Disturbing the Peace Since 1968" :D

if you have no piping after the x pipe, you could weld on the mufflers and dump it right there.

You can make a mid muffler with MACs or flowmasters, but it takes a bit of fabrication. Here is a vid of flowmaster mid mufflers

Throw some Magnaflow Magnapacks on it as a mid muffler system. They will be a little bit more but roughly $60 each. It'll sound so good but it'll still be loud as ****. If you want it quiet enough to not give cops a reason to pull you over than you're going to have to go with an axleback system, IMO. I used to run a O/R X Pipe with Magnaflow Magnapacks but it just got crazy loud. Here's my car with a O/R X Pipe and the Magnaflow catback (not Magnapacks). After a while the whole loud as **** thing gets old, it's relatively quiet now but I like it.

i just looked online they wnt fit... they are not axle back.... and there is no good place to put them
There's a guy on my Utah S197 forum who posted a pic of his Cherry Bombs installed...looked like there was some heavy convincing to piece and weld it together so it would fit. :p

Do you still have your stock axlebacks? Those may even sound good with your set-up.

I agree. You should try it. I was very surprised by the way mine sounded when I put the stockers back on. It's deep and sounds kinda like a chambered muffler. It's great because instead of of just sounding loud it sounds like it makes serious power. I'm sure with long tubes it would be even better. The best part is it gets quite loud at WOT but on the highway with the cruise set you can't hear it at all.

Edit: looks like I posted to slow.
