What do i need to do or change to make my 02 V6 rear end a 8.8 off a gt. Will i need a t-lok? i also want to get 4 10 gears r they different for the 8.8? Can i do it myself i have access to tools and a lift if need be.

you just hav to swap it out. The 8.8 will not need t-lok, but it will need new gears

You might want to put in the quad (slop) shocks too. Or your wheel hop might be horrendous. Aftermarket LCAs are a nice upgrade as long as you're at it and they help to reduce wheel hop too.

LCAS is the Lower Control Arms if im not mistaken....but donig the 8.8 get some Upper and Lower from UPR...chromolys that would help nice...I dont know to much about the Quad shock setup that comes on the GT if its needed in doing so or if we have somthing similar...

whats the whole wheel hop thing??? and LCAS?
Wheel hop is a damaging biproduct as a result of our 4-link's bad geometry and its designed sloppiness. Because of this inherent slop, tire spinning traction can develop rythmic variations causing the axle's motion to find it's harmonic motion and begin to bounce uncontrolably. The quad shock dampens the axle's attempt to reach this harmonic motion and controls the lead in to bounce (wheel hop). Stock Lower Control Arms are flimsy and contribute to the 4-links sloppiness. Because of their geometry, stiffer LCAs can benefit the system. However, because of their geometry, stiffer Upper Control Arms (UCAs) are only recommended for drag cars, and can damage the torque boxes if used otherwise.

if you do an aftermarket upper and lower control arm you dont need quad shaq. I use BBK, works good for a street car. I heard only good things about UPR, tublar ones too.

Aftermarket UCAs with stiff bushings should only be used for drag cars. The inherent bind that stiff UCAs can produce can lead to snap oversteer and damaged torque boxes.
