P.S. the reason there was no vacuum at the first hose you removed is because it is in front of the throttle plate. The throttle plate is what creates manifold vacuum. So, you need to pull ha hose that is directly connected to the intake manifold, i.e. the brake booster hose.

P.S. #2 - Put a vise grip or clamp on the hose, start the car, remove the clamp.. no helper required :)

I didn't get a helper with mine either and I was afraid of the car not starting with the PCV hose disconnected. So I started the car then pulled the hose. Worked nicely :yes

Btw bigdaddy, I was thinking about this when I got home a bit ago and decided to do some research to help you get this done faster. I found the brake booster was a good solution for you and I clicked over here all excited to have the answer. Then I saw this thread full of answers :lol

I did 1/3 in the vacuum line and a 1/3 in the oil. I didn't plan on doing it in the gas and I didn't want to possibly harm anything by running too much through the intake/engine so I've still got about 1/3 of a can sitting on my garage.

I use fuel system cleaner occasionally. I might toss what's left in the gas tank tomorrow since I'm getting low on gas and haven't used the cleaner lately, but I'm still undecided. I'm not sure why shark didn't, I don't think he really explained why in the video, he just said he wasn't going to.
