Thanks again that clears a lot up, so would it be worth it to upgrade all of that? how much better would my car run and would you be able to tell a difference with the KB before and after doing all of this to the engine? besides not blowing it up :p and how much would all of that cost? if you have a guess?

Depends on your budget, the KB 9psi kit is around $2000
If you want a whole forged rotating assembly so you don't have to worry about piecing cranks and rods and pistons.
~$2000 or so.

I know there's people on here who have the KB2.1L installed and can give you better total cost.
It won't be cheap but I'm expecting almost 6-10K on motor work.

The kit comes with fuel injectors, intercooler and just about everything to hit 400hp.

Forged assemblies are made by

Coast High Performance
Eagle Rods
Sean Hyland Motorsports
Modular Mustang Racing
DSS Racing

you can find all the pros and cons to each company on the forum here.

I just recently stumbled on MMR and had my eye on the 950 Stroker shortblock, same block dirtybird is running. I told him to keep us posted on how the block is, before I spend my money on it.

woah where are you finding it for $2000? I was seeing like $3500-$5500 on their site and $6000 for the engine work? and haha you guys are starting to lose me, I just got my mustang probably a month ago, and I have decent knowledge about it but once we go into the inside of the engine it gets hazy, I know about bolt ons, CAI, throttle bodies etc. and somewhat about cams, but yeah I wish I knew more about the inside of the engine, you two are very helpful thank you very much again

+1

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to do some more research then.
Always man! When spending that kinda money!

Alright this is where I start to feel stupid, what exactly do you mean by the rotating assembly?

I haven't priced the KB lately so I'm sorry for being way off on that one. As far as engine and the 6-10K, I was going off the price of a new short block with forged assembly, new alternator, water pump, oil pump, Timing chain, new CNC Ported PI Heads, Cams, Adjustable Cam gears, Valve Covers. Stuff adds up. But if you do it in stages then it won't be such a shock to the bank at once.
Take longer yes, but well worth it in the end.

If your only looking at 400-450HP then you won't be spending nearly as much as I am looking at 600-650HP.

For instance you won't have to go with a 1000HP racing rated oil pump, you can use a cobra oil pump and be able to support 500HP.

60# fuel injectors to support 720HP vs
42# to support 504HP

You could even keep the heads you have now and just throw some comp cams XE270AH in them.
You could save on not getting engine block and machine yours

ooh ok, that all makes sense now thank you, now I understand when everyone is talking about short and long blocks, so when I get the money, which do you think I should tackle first? the top end or the bottom end? can you do one at a time or will changing one thing affect the others and force me to change the others at the same time? and so $6000-$10000 for all of it? hmm would it be better to upgrade first then S/C or S/C then upgrade?

depends on your goals and such.

I am doing and short block with stock heads/cams. Then later on do the top end. For money reasons.
